Gigabyte GTX970 G1 Gaming Super Overclock Windforce Edition | JayzTwoCents
your awsome Jay dont ever stop making videos, i have a amd fx8320 and just watched your is amd still worth it video and started looking at a new gpu cuz mine is garbage. was looking into this one and wondered if you think this card is still worth getting? if you even see this comment ever lol
Hi everyone, specially JayzTwoCents, Im planning on buying a GTX 970 of gigabyte
to pair with my G1 Killer, but i have a problem with my Psu it only came with one Pci-6+2 pin
is it okay to run the 970 without the 6 pin? or is it safe to use the converter that came up with the card?
because i've been reading a lot of issues about using a Molex to Pci6 pin converter, that it might destroy the 970
please help its a matter of life for me
i came back to see how far your 970 g1 overclocks because mine apparently boosts up to 1519 on its own, without me doing any type of changes in msi afterburner and temps in the low 60s under load in valley. I might try overclocking it just to see how far it will go
Which card should someone buy between:
1) MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G (4096MB)
2) GigaByte GV-N970G1 GAMING-4GD (rev. 1.0/1.1)
3) GigaByte GV-N970XTREME-4GD (4096MB)
I heard the MSI is quieter and the temperature is lower! Is that right?
Please tell me also the difference between the 2nd and 3rd one.
Which card should i buy?
Please explain the difference between them.
Hello, merry Christmas 1st of all to everybody! I would like to know which card i should buy... The MSI GTX 970 (http://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/OffersOfProduct/4593798_-gtx-970-msi.html )or the Gigabyte GV-N970XTREME-4GD? The MSI cost 322 Euros and the Gigabyte 222 Euros. The card in the video Gigabyte GTX970 G1 cost around 300 Euros! Between the 1st and the 2nd one is a big money difference!
1) Can somebody tell me the difference between the 2 Gigabyte cards?
2)I read that the Gigabyte reach higher temperature and the noise is louder than the noice from the MSI. Is that right?
KM hdmi is (high definition media interface) media meaning all types video and sound are transmitted through if your monitor has speakers built in use it if not use the display port and save that hdmi for use of a tv later on maybe. Both have close to the same resolution so it doesn't matter which you choose
My 970 basically had the same core clock speed as Jay, with + 300mhz memory. It ran fine with most of my games and benchmark except Fallout 4 and Dark souls 3. It will always crash within 10 min - 1 hour. No matter what speed I put at them the games will always crash if its just a slight overclock. The crash would either be a black screen or colored screen then to desktop with no driver erorrs. Nothing at all. And then my pc sound goes into mute. I would have to manually unmute them.
where can I learn more about my Internal hard were so that I can know what I'm reading when picking parts for upgrades. I'm running this gpu with skylakes i7 6700k unlocked and 16gb ram, I wanna learn more about the specs about these parts because I am going dual monitor soon and I want to get two really good gpus (1 per monitor) and eventually one of those 1000$ i7 (whatever numbers)x cpu. anyone have any links to learning computer parts more than I know from building my pc
jay bro, I've a q !!
I've got a strix 970 and a 6600k ! I ain't using any z170 mobo . I'm using it on a b150m mortar mobo . but the problem is my games have a lil bit a slutter here and there I can see the problem greatly on farcry 4 ! why is that ?? I've set everything to ultra !! cause of the slutter, ive changed it to very high !! but why is the sluter ?? can you recommend a way for clearing this ?
hello jayz2cents got to ask you this question about the 970 graphics card currently in my gaming rig that's what I'm running I have an alien Aurora R5 with this particular car and I'm getting a lot of stuttering I've been tweaking my settings no matter where I put it and still stuttering now this is the kicker question if I was to move up 980 do I have to change out my power supply right now and I'm at 460 Watts Dell down build it for me
The Gigabyte Windforce GTX 970 (not the G1 Gaming version) is cheaper than the RX 480 reference here in Brazil. Should i go for it? I'm upgrading from the ancient GTX 460 actually, so either one should be a win.
And i could not agree more with you. I have this Zotac version and overclocked it up to 830MHz and it runs BF4 (lowest settings) at 1080p60, and I would say that the only thing holding it back is its 1gb vram and mine is already dying since I have these artifacts upon booting, so sad. But anyway, if I can find a mid-low range card that can deliver 1080p60 for like 4 years, i'm down with that!
Anyone plz help.
I just bought a GTX 970 G1 second hand and i can't seem to successfully overclock it.
I am using a Gigabyte Z68X mobo with PCI-E 2.0 x16.
For overclocking i use:
GPU-Z - To check real time core clocks.
MSI After Burner - To overclock my GPU.
Unigine Valley 1.0 (Basic edition) (Extreme HD) (Win 10) - As a GPU stress test. To check for a stable GPU clock.
If i raise the power limit in MSI After Burner to 112% and raise the Core clock with a 100MHz. The real time sensor in GPU-Z during the valley benchmark displays a GPU core clock of only 539MHz at 48˚C under load. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can resolve this problem?
Would love some help.
I have a shitty laptop, so all my settings need to be set to low on the few games I can play. I started playing CS:GO today and my fps was even lower than usual. Turns out 8X MSAA was on... It destroys your fps.
Yep, when I built my system initially I had the MSI card in the build, however the store had them out of stock! And couldn't get them for a month, was told to go with this as it was cheaper and handles the OC better. Best decision.
The fans wont spin until it hits a sertain temp and then it they start spinning if the temp goes more than temp you have set. I recomend keeping the fans at 30%-75% of their max speed if you are a heavy gamer/multi monitor user/video editor and you keep 24/7 overclock
@Alex Goulet I am going to use the oc mode but I will even oc more than it is already, I am not touching the voltage since I heard that it decreases the life of your card.
If you are kind enough send me your custom (safe I guess) settings for msi afterburner.
Your english is really quite good, don't be hard on yourself.
I use a custom OC. Is it safe? Generally speaking, yes. However getting high overclocking speeds requires more voltage which can shorten the life of your card. The extra OC is absolutely worth it. It performs so well!
If you're concerned about the life of the card and don't want to run higher clocks, then use the "Gaming" mode. I can't remember with OC Guru if the "OC' mode or the "Gaming" mode is higher. But you'll be good either way. But if you really want to get the good stuff out of the card, you'll want to use something like MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision X to squeeze the extra juice out of it.
I am not a computer guy, so jesus christ, which one do I buy? (I have a desktop, I don't know if this matters but my CPU is Intel i7 6700 3.4 GHZ Quad Core)
GTX 970 ACX 2.0
GTX 970 ACX 2.0 FTW
GTX 970 ACX 2.0 FTW+
GTX 970 ACX 2.0 SC+
GTX 970 HYBRID
GTX 970 SC
GTX 970 SC ACX 2.0
GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0
GTX 970 SSClk 2.0+
Lastly, does the brand matter? Or is that just a price difference.
GTX 970 Strix and *DONT* get the Hybrid its not worth it
And you should get a 980ti if you have the money. If you have the money get the ASUS GTX 980Ti Strix its an beast of a card and it beats the Titan X
From my GTX970 Gigabyte G1 Gaming I get a max core clock of 1648mhz & 8102Mhz on the memory.
A Valley score of 3134. I run it at 1605mhz & 8000Mhz 24/7, with temps not going over 55c.
Helps to be watercooled with a EK full cover block :)
This Card is on it's way. with EK-KIT X240 replacing the corsair H110 (it died lasted 1yr-8months tho) and a drain tap and an extra fitting for it. tho i think i may 1 more fitting eep. could be wrong tho think im right. Thank you jay my screen is a projector 1080p 60hz. this card makes sence for me.
