When was the last time you were ABSOLUTELY CRUSHING IT in life?

“Good habits are hard to form and easy to live with. Bad habits are easy to form and hard to live with. Pay attention. Be aware. If we don't consciously form good ones, we will unconsciously form bad ones.” ― Mark Matteson ►►Go here for my best videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYy6GDb6c3Mq_NIsTW_evIAVtGNWR3IkP "What man actually needs is not a tensionless state but rather striving and struggling for a worthwhile goal, a freely chosen task." -- Viktor Frankl Relaxation and enjoying life is important. Relaxing and enjoyment often recharges our energy. But the more and more I feel like I am being my best self more and more of the time, just the more awesome life tends to get. Relaxing feels infinitely better when earned anyways. I used the gym as a metaphor. What would YOUR best self be doing? Also, if you do go to the gym. Everyone has their own individualization process. You may be an "outlier". Also, there appears to be a yin and a yang for everything (except God maybe?) that go together. Maybe you'll find some concept that will work awesome for you now, and then in the future you'll find that the polar opposite of that concept is what feels true for you! What matters is are you afraid of truth? Are you being real? Are your actions hurting others? And are you coming from a truly good place? Sometimes I'll watch some of my videos that I made a year ago for example, and disagree with what I talked about back then. My views keep evolving it seems. Always question what you "get" from my channel! "The shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no recipe for living that suits all cases." -- Carl Jung Trust your gut. You said you read most of the comments so I hope you read this one. How do you identify a beautiful woman vs a hot woman? The Alabaster girl talks about this at the beginning. I thought you could help.

I am usually pretty critical of your videos, but this video was great! I completely agree! Hope to hear more practical advice from your end in the future!

Hey luke. Is it possible you could make a video about your thoughts on tinder? Or online dating apps in general.
Veg Experiment (3 years ago)
Damn, Luke. I remember laughing my ass off back when you were doing that prank where you were snorting fake cocaine in public. It seems so long ago. I just thought you disappeared off of YouTube but it's good to see you here again. Didn't realize you were this deep/intelligent person away from pulling pranks on people. Great words of advice, man.

I think just like you, and boy I'm so happy I do, because it's so much better than my former lazy/victim mentality. I'm so happy for you. You're so cute and alive - which I really like ;) :D Thanks for the inspiration :)

Sean Alvarez (3 years ago)
Thanks Luke, this is very true and I agree with your message. For the last couple months I've been doing p90X and staying very disciplined with the workout and eating right and have been seeing results. And your right, it just becomes habit, so its not even a big deal. But i certainly need to work on my schooling, today I had a test and completely fucked it up because I didn't study as much as I know I could have. I never really have been good at studying but I need to make it happen, and I will. But today was an a little mini eye opener, considering the fact that you can excel in one part of your life with healthy habits but still waste time and don't study as much as I could have. Yeah so I resonated with your message Luke. Absolutely right.

Such a powerful message and I could sense your energy through the screen lol. I think that is your best video ever, great job Luke!

Brian Moncada (3 years ago)
Hey Luke, awesome message and glad to see you forcing yourself into the habit of a consistent workout routine! I noticed in some of your videos you talk about one of your goals being to get bigger and grow more muscle. By now I assume you already know that the gym is a small part of that process, and nutrition and food are the deciding factor on whether or not you grow or stay the same. Curious to know if you have been eating in a caloric surplus consistently each day so that your body can build muscle and gain weight? If so, maybe making a video on your current bulking diet would be helpful to those out there also trying to gain muscle and size.
Brian Moncada (3 years ago)
Yeah definitely, bulking can be expensive...i find myself spending anywhere from 60$-80$ on groceries every 2 weeks. Tuna, canned black beans, white rice, ground beef, vegetables....it all adds up, ESPECIALLY if you want flavor hahah. Everything I make tastes bland and plain....oh well haha
GoldJacketLuke (3 years ago)
+Brian Moncada Yep. Eating more is my main issue now haha. I'm slowly making gainz though. Ehh not worth a video because my diet is nothing special. It's just overall pretty healthy. But if someone wanted diet information there are countless other people online who are much more knowledgeable than me there!

Awesome video Luke and strange I felt the EXACT same way all of a sudden. I've been lazy and made big goals at the beginning of 2016 but I sort of got soft. All of a sudden I realized it was March and I've gone full Spartan mode, no more bullshit, and plan to stay that way.

"Why did it all turn out like this for me? I had so much promise. I was personable, I was bright. Oh, maybe not academically speaking, but I was perceptive. I always know when someone's uncomfortable at a party. It became very clear to me sitting out there today, that every decision I've ever made, in my entire life, has been wrong. My life is the complete opposite of everything I want it to be. Every instinct I have, in every aspect of life, be it something to wear, something to eat...it's all been wrong." -George Costanza

Staying in shape is not easy, it is simple but not easy. It's not about just turning up at the gym, you need to utilise your time and put in the work.

Hey Luke, thanks for your videos. I was thinking about going to the park and do some calisthenics but I wasn't sure.. now I am And if you didn't do it yet, I recommend you watch some videos of "actualized.org" channel, those are pretty thought-provoking too

Justicemaker (3 years ago)
Last time I was crushing it was this past year. Lost over 100 pounds, went from morbidly obese to relatively fit and healthy weight. But I feel like I expected too much out of this... like my life would magically change once I hit that goal weight. I was very stuck in that "once I do A, then I can do B" mentality. I kinda did A... but I dont even know what B is in this case lol. Any thoughts on this?
GoldJacketLuke (3 years ago)
+Justicemaker Wow. First off, congrats on losing over 100 pounds! HUGE accomplishment. Great job man. I heard a horror story of a guy who lost over 100 pounds, and then after some years gained most of it back. So keep up the hard work and maintain your gains (make more improvement actually!). Slowly and slowly, the more you are healthy, the more habits you'll create and the more your body will love being healthy. So keep it up! With hard work, it only gets easier as time goes on and as you get used to your new habits. Yeah, life is tricky. I think it's a paradox of enjoying and appreciating where you are now, while at the same time moving towards your dreams. Alan Watts has a cool talk on that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERbvKrH-GC4
Daan (3 years ago)
Hey luke, I love this video man, very positive message. Have you heard about the 30 days of discipline challenge by Victor Pride? Right now I'm 1 week in and I feel so alive, so much more focussed and clear and so much more confident. It's amazing. I sometimes hate to do certain things that will build my discipline and help me to get more shit done, but I try do them anyway. Like you said, doing those things, like going to the gym when you're lazy, will make you feel really proud of yourself. I'm one week in and fucked up a lot of times, but I didn't give up. I think this is key, don't give up. You say the most important thing is to fully accept yourself. I like that man, it's much more easy to not give up on something if you accept whatever is going to happen. Now I'm going to start over tomorrow and do the challenge properly. If you, or anyone, wants to do this challenge I've got one tip: do it with likeminded friends or even people you've never met. Peace
Daan (3 years ago)
Sorry for the wall of text haha
NateSpurs (3 years ago)
Had the same feeling yesterday but still went and obviously came out of the gym with twice as much benefit because i stuck with it. Good vid man. like Woody Allen says. 80% of success in life is just showing up.

Siim Land (3 years ago)
This is just pure truth. I'm at a point where I do whatever I know I'm supposed to be doing independent of I'm feeling. In situations of no motivation I'm simply taking action despite of the circumstances. In a way I'm creating my own reality. It's amazing.
Lake (3 years ago)

Damn man, I needed this...I'm working on a project I am really passionate about (a book) that just feels so hard to write sometimes. However, I have a clear goal of seeing it completed and at its full potential. I have to buckle down and get it done
Victor M (3 years ago)
That's a really good advice Luke. Sometimes it's hard to leave your comfort zone and start making activities for your personal growth, because as you said, develop/remove habits can be a slow process. Anything special to keep your goals in mind?
GoldJacketLuke (3 years ago)
+Victor M Yup exactly. Journaling is really helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVbT0anDAEw I'm going to make another video hopefully in the very near future regarding another tool I use that has really helped me out too
I´m joing you in living this message. My new habit is taking improv classes once-a-week and practicing everyday some silly improv exercises. Every time I go to improv class I feel more worthy of being there because I have fear that reduces in strenght by going and being a positive part of the group-mind
+FX48 Your friend is on point. Acting out some crazy scenes without judgement is freeing. Let loose and join the improv
FX48 (3 years ago)
+Gudmundur Arnar Sigurdsson I've heard improv classes are fantastic for confidence man. According to my friend, it teaches you to think on your feet and completely let go of living in your brain during improv and if you incorporate it enough, you can use it in daily life to get rid of anxieties that you may have while performing certain things. He says that I should take some classes, I might take his advice actually... Best of luck
GoldJacketLuke (3 years ago)
+Gudmundur Arnar Sigurdsson Awesome my man. Sounds dope! :)

Rambo Prods (3 years ago)
Luke when are you going to do some Pranks I'm sure you will release your stress
FX48 (3 years ago)
100% understandable man and as you explained it, I completely agree. That does come off kind of weird with the filming. The interview stuff was actually pretty interesting. Definitely do that.
GoldJacketLuke (3 years ago)
+FX48 Unless it's a crazy pickup video like I used to do (more like a prank), I honestly feel creepy trying to pickup girls with a hidden camera. Because then afterwards you basically have to say "btw this wasn't real, this was to show my youtube audience that I can get girls because I am insecure. Is it cool if I get your permission to put this on youtube?" Hahaa I am just joking here. But you get the point? It's just kind of creepy to pickup girls with a hidden camera man.. and you do have to get their permission or blur their face. It just feels really insincere to get a girls number and then tell her it was for a youtube video. The girl feels used and most likely won't want to go on a date with me because she thinks "he just did that for the video, that wasn't really him". It just feels weird. Maybe that's just me making excuses, and it would really help my audience. Right now like I said, I plan on doing some more street interview style stuff with girls. I think that's the way to go. Girls really enjoy it, you can see me interacting with women, and they are cool and really enjoy doing something in front of a camera. It's a cool experience to give a girl. And the camera is right in front of our faces so it's chillin and real. More stuff like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksFskciJLGM
FX48 (3 years ago)
+GoldJacketLuke Should do some filmed pickup man. You seem like the kind of guy that is more calm and introverted compared to most of the pick up dudes on YT. Would be interested to see how you approach women as I'm sure it's a whole different perspective for those that are generally more shy and quiet. Not saying you're quiet or anything, but you definitely are more calm and non hyper when speaking to people. Sometimes I wonder if my more calm approaching is lacking compared to what could be a more hyped up version of an approach.
Rambo Prods (3 years ago)
+GoldJacketLuke of course :)
GoldJacketLuke (3 years ago)
+Rambo Prods I really have no desire to do pranks anymore. But perhaps they would be good for me and I should push through haha. But honestly what I plan on doing is doing some more interview type videos. Like street interviews with pretty girls. etc. So stay tuned for some of those in the future!
GoldJacketLuke (3 years ago)
I've been pretty lazy lately. I know I've been living at like 10% of my potential. So this video was kind of a pep talk to myself! haha. This morning the second my alarm went off I jumped into a cold shower. Felt awesome. Just little steps forward to improving our lives my friends. Baby steps. Imagine what living close to your full potential would feel like. :)
