The history of the wild west is filled with stories of riches and murder, but there were never quick-draw gunslingers who could shoot a six gun out of your hand with another six gun. However, this did not stop myths being created and over the years became even more exaggerated, so let’s examine some of the facts. Here are five wild west mysteries that have never – and may never – be solved. --------------------------------------------- Credits: 5. https://www.tom-horn.com/story-killing-willie-nickel.htm 4. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queho https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rVvVtZPMYE 3. https://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052702303828304575179683387497278 2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbird_(cryptozoology) 1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butch_Cassidy Music From AudioBlocks.com, MotionArray.com, Pond5.com Outro Credits: Greenscreen Thunder Storm HD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPuU0EVbP4s Song: Toxic Wrath (15 sec Edit) by Keith Anthony Holden https://www.audioblocks.com/stock-audio/toxic-wraith-%2815-sec-edit%29-92591.html Rain Drops on Glass Window -1080p Green Screen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWLlwMUJ3XA DISCLAIMER: FAIR USE NOTICE. On July 14, 1881, the outlaw known as Billy the Kid was shot and killed by Sheriff Pat Garret in New Mexico. The Kid was a wild one, having killed at least 8 men and possibly many more (legend says 21) by the time he was 21 years old. The West was called Wild for a reason. Outlaws and rough justice were the way of life and battles between ranchers, rustlers, cattlemen, and robbers were not rare. Here we list 10 of the wildest of the characters that made the West Wild. Who would you add to the list? Between Article 13, channel terminations, copyright sprees, and demonetizations; it seems like the Wild West era of the internet is fading away and giving way to a more regulated, heavily processed, remarkably sterile internet. Can we stop it? I don't know. I once saw a man get beybladed by a train in a subway platform. I know I've said this before but it really hasn't left my head since. Anyway, here's a new video. I hope you like it. I had a ton of fun making it. Special thanks to Nakey Jakey for voicing Paul! Everyone can imagine what a cowboy looks like. Over 100 years of western movies have made their image popular and easily recognizable. But do you know how long the Wild West era actually lasted? If you answered “over a hundred years” – you’re wrong. It only thrived for 30 years and came to an end because of one invention that’s still used today! Since cowboys lived by the Rule of Open Range, farmers needed to distinguish their territories somehow and prevent their crops from being trampled by cattle moving freely. They could have built fences out of wood, but that wasn’t a common resource in the prairies, and it would have been expensive and taken too much time. So what did they do? A fearless macho wearing a hat; a lasso master and a frequent visitor of saloons? In reality, those guys were mostly illiterate cattle handlers or cattlemen. - Their era, called the Wild West or the American Frontier, lasted from right after the Civil War ended in 1865 until around 1895. - Back in the beginning of the 19th century, the United States didn’t actually stretch from sea to shining sea. It occupied a rather small area in the eastern part of the continent. - Cattle breeders lived according to their own rules. Or one rule, to be precise – the Rule of Open Range. It meant no boundaries for cattle, and freedom for herds to move to new pastures. - In fact, the entire Wild West was ruined by what the Indians called “the Devil’s rope”. You know this invention as barbed wire. - Since cowboys lived by the Rule of Open Range, farmers needed to distinguish their territories somehow and prevent their crops from being trampled by cattle moving freely. - A businessman named Joseph Glidden changed everything with his invention of barbed wire. It wasn’t a completely revolutionary concept, as hundreds of barbed wire models were patented in the 19th century alone. - In 5 years, sales went from 31 miles (50 km) of wire to 263.000 miles (423.000 km)! That would be enough to wrap around the equator ten times! - Another name associated with barbed wire is John Warne Gates. He made a fortune on barbed wire sales, and also on the bets he made with onlookers. - So, the farmers got a cheap way to build borders between their lands, and the newspapers called it "The Greatest Discovery Of The Age". - “Fence-cutting wars” became a reality in that time. Cowboys would put on masks and form gangs, such as Blue Devils and the Javelinas, and cut the wires in the night to get access to water and grazings. - As a result, the once Wild West wasn’t as wild as it used to be, the Rule of the Open Range was over, and cowboys became history. This wild west themed playground has swings, slides, bridges, places to climb, mazes, and more. This great playground in the heart of West Jordan’s massive Veterans Memorial Park has it all: Baseball diamonds, tennis courts, restrooms, never ending grass fields, and pavilions (both big and small) available to rent for events. The playground itself is made of Trex, so you don’t need to worry about your kids getting splinters. I'm going to cover something that's been on my mind for a while. And that topic is the wild west or the mantopia as I've coined it. When I'm talking about the Wild West I'm referring to a specific period of the time in the mid to late nineteenth century in two countries. Those places being the United States and Australia. When people watch wild west films they are often set in the Western United States. And most people will be shocked to learn that part of Australia also had a version of the wild west. It was about settling a hot and dry climate just like the gold rush in California. As the industrial revolution and the railroad were starting to gain momentum in North America and Australia those two countries opened up gold mining to the public for the first time in history. In the past most countries were ruled by Monarchs and the gold in and on the ground was owned by the monarchs. And hence it was illegal for men to dig up the gold that belonged to the king or queen. So when gold was discovered in California in 1848 the mining was opened up to everyone. People from the Eastern United States rushed to find gold in the South West of America. All of the pictures I'm showing you in this video are from a small gold rush town call Ballarat in Australia. But getting back to the idea that the Wild West was a Mantopia. It has a lot to do with the idea that in many early mining towns there were no women besides the prostitutes that followed the miners. If you watch the AMC show called Hell on Wheels you'll also see the prostitutes that follow the railway workers across the plains. The early wild west was so devoid of female influence that men were free to gamble, drink and take financial risks they would never be able to take if they were married. Men were free to do anything they wanted because the law was also loose just like the women. Men were the most free they had been in all of civilized history. Local lawmen were unable to police the frontier properly. Women were not there to nag and tell men what to do. And there were no monarchs or governments to tax men. That's why I see that period of time in history as the ultimate Mantopia. If anyone has any other ideas about what the ideal society for men looks like I'd love to hear it. Indulge in the strychnine-laced whiskey and opium-based laudanum of early Colorado. A lack of regulation and easy access to potent tinctures made for fun times in the Wild West, but oftentimes led to addiction and health concerns for a large part of Colorado’s early population. In which John Green teaches you about the Wild, Wild, West, which as it turns out, wasn't as wild as it seemed in the movies. When we think of the western expansion of the United States in the 19th century, we're conditioned to imagine the loner. The self-reliant, unattached cowpoke roaming the prairie in search of wandering calves, or the half-addled prospector who has broken from reality thanks to the solitude of his single-minded quest for gold dust. While there may be a grain of truth to these classic Hollywood stereotypes, it isn't a very big grain of truth. Many of the pioneers who settled the west were family groups. Many were immigrants. Many were major corporations. The big losers in the westward migration were Native Americans, who were killed or moved onto reservations. Not cool, American pioneers. 9 Unsolved Sin & Mysteries from the American Old West (A ship isn’t usually something you associate with the Wild West). 👉 Thank for watching! If You enjoy it, please Like and Subcribe this Chanel. 👈 The American West has long been a place for cowboys, gunslingers, and hidden treasure. However, there’s been questions about the true fate of certain outlaws, along with other mysteries that have fascinated people for around a hundred years, and that have never been solved or explained by modern historians. 1. Butch Cassidy’s Death. Born Robert LeRoy Parker in Beaver, Utah, on April 13, 1866, the bandit who assumed the alias Butch Cassidy remains an icon, of the Old West even 150 years after his birth. As with many legendary outlaws... 2. Victorio Peak Treasure. The mystery boils down to a single question: Was Milton (Doc) Noss telling the truth, or just a tall tale?... 3. Bill Longley’s Execution. Outlaw Wild Bill Longley twice cheated the noose, but popular Texas folklore that he got away a third time is wrong. Scientists say tests of the body in his grave show that it is, indeed, Longley.... 4. Cochise’s Burial Site. Chief Cochise, one of the great leaders of the Apache Indians, in their battles with the Anglo Americans, dies on the Chiricahua reservation in southeastern Arizona.... 5. Lost Dutchman’s Gold Mine. One legendary treasure that has led many astray, and ruined many lives is the Lost Dutchman Mine, supposedly located in the Superstition Mountains east of Phoenix, Arizona. As with most legends... 6. Pancho Villa’s Head. Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa was born Doroteo Arango on June 5, 1878, in San Juan del Rio, Durango. Villa spent much of his youth helping out on his parents' farm.... 7. Thunderbirds. One of the West’s most fascinating cold cases involves a flying monster, a dying town and a disappearing photograph.... 8. Billy the Kid’s Death. Sheriff Pat Garrett shoots Henry McCarty, popularly known as Billy the Kid, to death at the Maxwell Ranch in New Mexico.... 9. The Desert Ship. Of all the legends about lost and found, and lost again treasures in the Southwest, there is none more mystifying than the enduring tale of a large sailing vessel which lies... In the late 1890s Gertrude Käsebier heard about a theatrical performance of cowboys, Indians and other American West characters called Buffalo Bill's Wild West". The show was performing in New York and had temporarily set up an "Indian village" in Brooklyn. Recalling her early days in Colorado, Käsebier went to the show and became enthralled with the faces of the Native Americans. She began taking portraits of them and soon became sympathetic to their plight. Over the next decade she would take dozens of photographs of the Indians in the show, some of which would become her most famous images. Unlike her contemporary Edward Curtis, Käsebier focused more on the expression and individuality of the person than the costumes and customs. While Curtis is known to have added elements to his photographs to emphasize his personal vision, Käsebier did the opposite, sometimes removing genuine ceremonial articles from a sitter in order to concentrate on the face or stature of the person. Kasebier's Indian project was a purely personal and artistic one; while she stood to make a considerable profit off of the pieces, she never offered any of them for sale, and only produced prints for a select few individuals.

He was a starting guard for the UCLA Bruins men's basketball team while Darren Collison was injured. When Collison returned he moved to the shooting guard. He is known primarily for his athleticism, in the form of high flying dunks in transition and his lock down defense. A virtual no-name in his freshman year, averaging 3.4 points per game, his stats and his potential exploded in his sophomore year, when he averaged 12.5 points per game. Was not able to dunk until his senior year in High School. It has been reported in various media biographies that he is the cousin of Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook. However, a July 2008 Daily Oklahoman article reported that when he was asked about his relationship with Brian, Russell Westbrook responded, "That's not my cousin." Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin took sides on the topics of cyber-crime and Syria during an intense, 90-minute-long 'pull-aside' meeting at the G20 summit in China Monday. The pair had been photographed locked in a 'death stare' (main image) during the meeting, which occurred apart from the main discussions.
