Long ton, also known as the imperial ton or weight ton, is the name for the unit called the "ton" in the avoirdupois or Imperial system of measurements that was used in the United Kingdom and several other Commonwealth countries before metrication. One long ton is equal to 2,240 pounds (1,016 kg), 12% larger than a short ton and 1.6% larger than the 1,000-kilogram (2,205 lb) tonne, or 35 cubic feet (0.9911 m3) of salt water with a density of 64 lb/cu ft (1.025 g/ml). It has some limited use in the United States, most commonly in measuring the displacement of ships, and was the unit prescribed for warships by the Washington Naval Treaty 1922—for example battleships were limited to a mass of 35,000 long tons (36,000 t; 39,000 short tons). The Imperial ton was explicitly excluded from use for trade in the United Kingdom by the Weights and Measures Act of 1985. This video is targeted to blind users. At one point, she even turns into a Walrus - which on average weigh about 2000 lbs [or one ton!] Other highlights in this video include finding treasure, playing ball, and even a cameo by a REALLY hip nun driving a sports car. Let the memorably catchy melody and fun, engaging animations take your class on a journey through the world of measuring by weight in ounces, pounds, and tons. Don't be surprised if you're asked to hit the replay button, or even catch your students singing this song at lunchtime, recess, or even humming the melody during class! LYRICS: Put sixteen ounces on a scale; It’ll weigh one pound without fail. Pick up sixteen ounces off the ground, And you just lifted one pound. And if a ball weighs sixteen ounces, A pound hits the ground every time it bounces. If you weighed two thousand pounds, you couldn’t run, ‘cause if you weighed that much you would be one ton! But if you found treasure, it would be real fun, If all that gold weighed up to one ton, ‘cause all that would make mounds and mounds, As a ton is equal to two thousand pounds! I looked up how many ounces were in a pound, and sixteen ounces is what I found. Then I stacked up pounds until they weighed a ton, And it took two thousand until I was done. Lots of things weigh about an ounce, Like four quarters or a friendly mouse. Lots of things weigh about a pound, Like this bottle of soda that my teacher found. Lots of things weigh about a ton, Like a small car driven by a really hip nun! I looked up how many ounces were in a pound, And sixteen ounces is what I found. Then I stacked up pounds until they weighed a ton, And it took two thousand until I was done. This video addresses the following Common Core Standards: 4.MD (Solve problems involving measurement and conversion of measurements from a larger unit to a smaller unit.) 5.MD (Convert like measurement units within a given measurement system.)

The Empire's short-range starfighters required capital ship support in order to be effectively deployed. To this end, Kuat Drive Yards would develop a cheap and compact carrier to support Imperial convoys and capital ships and protect them against Rebel Alliance starfighters. Charging a Rheem 5-ton R410a split air conditioning system

08:51
In this video we diagnose a refrigerant leak on a residential Rheem 5-ton R410A split air conditioning system. The compressor/condenser was model number 14AJM60A01 and the air handler was model number RHLL-HM6024JA. My unreliable leak detector found a leaky evaporator coil likely due to formicary corrosion - a problem plaguing late model copper evaporator coils. Before charging, our superheat was approx 40 degrees and subcooling was approx 2 degrees - this is highly suggestive of a low refrigerant charge, as was the ice on the evaporator coil. We added refrigerant until we hit approx 12-14 degrees of subcooling and approx 16 degrees of superheat. Normally it is NOT a good idea to charge a leaking system but the owner of this system cannot afford to replace the evaporator coil at this time. This should allow him to "kick the can down the road" for a bit. In this video, we used the following: Virgin R410A refrigerant - about $90 for 25 lbs Imperial 535-C Kwik Charge Liquid Low Side Charger - about $35 Yellow Jacket 42004 Series 41 R410A and R22 Manifold - about $120 Fluke 187 with Fluke 80PK-1 Bead Probe - about $40
