Can you eat just one meal a day? The human body can survive without a bite of food for up to 3 weeks. Of course, it’s a different story with water; you wouldn’t last more than 3 or 4 days without it! You and I both know that people are expected to eat 3 full meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Depending on how filling those meals are, you may squeeze in a few snacks here and there. It usually takes about 4 hours after each meal for your belly to start making those too-often-than-not embarrassingly monstrous growls, reminding you that it’s time for your next meal! But with different diets and fasting gaining popularity, I couldn’t help but wonder what would happen to my body if I ate just one meal every day for 30 days. I did it, and here’s what I got out of it! Women have a stronger need for iron in their diet. - I also read up on different studies. One of them was conducted in 2017 by researchers at the University of Saskatchewan. They found that the one meal a day diet can be helpful for people suffering from type 2 diabetes since it helps with weight loss and reducing blood sugar levels. - Other studies have shown that it can really help increase the lifespan in people with obesity. - It just a super specific thing that each person should check with their doctor to see if they can do it safely. The same catering companies that prepare food for airlines also have huge dishwashing areas where they wash and sanitize plates, cups, and cutlery. - Airlines state that the water they use to make hot drinks is safe to drink and meets all necessary regulations. But the fact is that the water tanks on planes often become a playground for all kinds of bacteria. I'm gonna give you everything you need including what foods to eat, how much to eat based on your individual body, how to get into ketosis faster, what supplements to take, as well as the benefits, side effects and much much more. First let's start with the basics. A ketogenic diet is high fat, moderate protein, low carb diet. And the goal is to get you into a state known as ketosis. Normally your body uses glucose or carbohydrates as it's primary source of energy, but ketosis is a state where your body doesn't have enough glucose to use for energy so it switches over to primarily using fats for fuel instead. As your body becomes more fat adapted it becomes more efficient at using the dietary fat that you get from the food you eat and it becomes more efficient at breaking down stored body fat for energy as well. This is what helps many people lose a lot of weight on the ketogenic diet. Besides losing weight other benefits include reduced blood sugar, improved insulin sensitivity, improved blood triglyceride levels, higher levels of hdl cholesterol or the good kind of cholesterol, lower levels of ldl or the "bad' cholesterol, less acne, and many people report experiencing less hunger than they would on a typical calorie restricted diet plan. Now even though a keto diet can help provide all of these benefits, many people mess it up from the beginning because they have no targets for the day. Instead they just avoid carbs, and eat as much protein and fatty foods as they want, assuming that as long as they keep their carbs low they'll burn fat. Even though low carb diets, will usually automatically restrict your calories and lower your insulin levels, (2) if you over eat protein and fat you can gain weight the same way you would by overeating carbs. So to start the ketogenic diet the first thing you'll want to do is figure out about how much protein, carbs, and fats you should be having everyday based on your particular body. A standard keto diet will have only about 5 percent of your daily calories coming from carbs, 75 percent of your daily calories coming from fat, and only 20 percent of your calories coming from protein. The easiest way to figure out exactly what this means for you and how much you should be eating is by using my free fat loss calculator that can be found by clicking the link in the description below. After you input your stats like your height and your weight your macro results will load. Once they load, just select the ketogenic dieting option to find your daily protein, fat, and carb targets. Keep in mind you don't have to track your macros forever, but it's a good idea to do it for at least a few days so you can make sure that you're not eating too much or too little. Something that you'll notice right away is that your carbs are very low, so it's important that you're selecting the right foods, that will be appropriate for this type of diet plan. Would you lose weight and more specifically would you lose body fat or would you lose muscle mass? Or maybe your body would go into starvation mode and cause you to gain weight rather than lose it due to a slower metabolism? Well that's exactly what we're going to drive into in today's video. I've been eating one meal a day not every day but almost everyday for about 2 years now. And it's worked really well for me, so today I'd like to let you guys know what results you can expect if you stick to only one meal day for the next 30 days. Even though I've had quite a bit of experience with the one meal a day diet myself I'm going to be sharing scientific studies and evidence that will help you see both the pros and the cons of this diet approach. First I want to go over the proper way to set up this diet plan for yourself because there's not an abundance of information out there on the one meal a day diet like there is on shorter fasting protocols like intermittent fasting. So a lot of people that try to stick to this diet plan mess it up from the very get go and turn it into more of a warrior diet. And the warrior diet is great, but that's not what we're going for here. You see the warrior diet is a different form of fasting where you fast for 20 hours of the day and you give yourself a four hour feeding window for eating. If you don't set limits to the amount of time you spend eating you easily can drag out your one single meal into a buffet that lasts for hours. So it's very important that you understand that one meal a day is also a 23/1 fasting to feeding split. Meaning you only give yourself a 1 hour feeding window usually during the same time every day and you have to spend the other 23 hours of the day fasting. If it isn't already obvious OMad or the one meal a day diet helps you create a calorie deficit without really thinking about restricting calories. When you're only eating once a day especially when you do it the right way and limit it to under an hour, you can only fit so much into your stomach before your full. So really we're limiting calories by decreasing meal frequency. Which immediately can be a red flag for those people that believe that your metabolism slows down when you decrease meal frequency. However, numerous studies have proven this to be a myth. One study called "meal frequency and energy balance" combined and examined research from a bunch of different studies on the topic of meal frequency. And the researchers found that a nibbling pattern of eating or eating more frequently didn't present any advantage as far as the metabolic rate was concerned. So your metabolism is not going to automatically slow down from eating only one meal a day for 30 days. If you have the same amount of calories in that one meal as you would in 6 meals then your metabolism should remain the same in both situations. So does that mean that the "starvation mode" that we've all been warned about is a big phony scam? Well turns out it's actually not, it's actually called adaptive thermogenesis and it's a very real response that your body has. In response to a decrease in energy intake your body will decrease energy expenditure in an effort to avoid starvation. However adaptive thermogenesis will occur based on the total amount of energy or calories coming in. As long as you don't fast for over 48 hours It doesn't matter if those calories all come in at once or throughout the day. Simple recipes with cheese for everyone There is no denying that cheese is delicious, especially when it comes to cooking with cheese. There are limitless recipes you can try with all different varieties of cheese, such as mozzarella, parmesan cheese or cheddar cheese. Since it is such a delicious ingredient for cooking and filled with protein we created some simple and delicious recipes with cheese that can try right away. In addition, we included some bonus cooking hacks and tips to make your time in the kitchen more enjoyable. 1. Simplest macaroni and cheese recipe. If you are at work or would like to have macaroni and cheese as a snack instead of making a huge pot of food. Try this little trick that will literally take you 3 minutes to make this meal. In a mug, add a scoop of pasta, then, add the adequate amount of water and microwave for 2 minutes. Stir it really well and make sure there is no more water left in the mug. Then add some milk and cheese and stir until the cheese into the mug and Bon Appetite. 2. Delicious cheese toastie recipe If you would like to have a nice cheese toast fast but you don't own a grill, don't let that stop you. Apply some butter on a slice of bread on both sides, then, add two slices of cheddar cheese and then another slice of bread with butter spread on it. Then, place your sandwich in a kitchen foil and seal it. After that, take your clothing iron and place it on top of the toastie for a couple of minutes max, then turn it and press the other side as well with your clothing iron and, there you have it. 3. DIY cheddar sticks This might as well be the most delicious treat in the whole world. Take a block of cheddar cheese and cut it in rectangular blocks. Place one wooden stick in each block. Then, dip it into flour, after that dip it into an egg wash, and finally in breadcrumbs. Lastly, boil some oil and fry your cheesy sticks. Enjoy with some ketchup or the sauce of your choice. 4. Oil Hack! Instead of accidentally pouring excess oil on your food or your frying pan. Pour some oil in a clean spray bottle and start spraying. This way you'll be able to monitor how much oil you consume and also keep your meals healthier. 5.How to make your own iced coffee Make your filter coffee, or your espresso, or your instant coffee with hot water as you would normally do with or without sugar. (Do Not add milk). Then pour it into your ice tray and place it in the freezer. When it's time for you to have a nice glass of iced coffee, instead of running to the closest coffee shop, just take 5-6 cubes of the iced coffee you prepared, place them in a glass with some milk or water and stir. So the first verb I want to teach you is "pick at". Okay? "Pick at." So you'll notice that the part of this word I say louder is the preposition. "Pick at." "I'm sad, so I pick at my food." Can you guess what this means based on the sentence you see here? When you are sad, do you eat a lot, or do you eat a little? Well, some people eat a lot. But many people, when they're very sad, they don't want to eat. "Pick at" means you don't eat a lot; you eat very, very little. You might pick at your food when you are sad or when you are sick. Okay? So that is the word "pick at". And I've drawn a face here because this person is maybe sick or sad, so they're not eating a lot. They are picking at their food. The next word we use, "snack on". Okay? When you "snack on" something, you don't eat a lot, but you're not going to a restaurant and snacking on food. It's usually you snack on, maybe, popcorn, potato chips, junk food, candy, maybe sunflower seeds. When you "snack on" something, it means you're eating some of it, but it's not your dinner. It's not your lunch. You're eating it, maybe, between meals. Okay? Because you're a little hungry. So for example, "Tonight, I will see a movie. At the movie theater, I will snack on popcorn." Okay? Popcorn is not my dinner, but I will eat some popcorn. I will snack on popcorn. Okay? So again, these two words have to do with eating. This means eating very, very little. And this means eating a little bit more. Then, we have the next word. I love this word, "pig out". Okay? If you know what the animal -- a pig is -- if you know what a pig is, you can probably guess that this word means to eat a lot. If you "pig out", you eat a lot of something. Okay? So if you went to a restaurant and you ate five hamburgers -- maybe not a fancy restaurant, but if you went to a restaurant and ate five hamburgers, you probably "pigged out". You ate a lot. Okay? So our example sentence, "I pigged out. On Friday, I went to a restaurant. The food was so good, I pigged out. I ate a lot." Then, we have this word, "polish off". And you'll notice there's a smiley face here. And this is when you eat even more than "pig out". Okay? "Polish off" is when you take all the food. There's no food left on your plate. Everything is gone. You've eaten everything on your plate. You polished it off. Okay? So for example, "Jen polished off her dinner." It means she ate all of her dinner. There's not even a crumb. She ate everything. She polished off her dinner. You can also use "polished off" with drinks, too. Imagine if somebody loves wine and they drink the whole bottle, okay? "They polished off the wine." There's no more wine left. So that means there's none left because you ate or drank it all.

EGG-SHELLENT HACKS Eggs are easy to cook! They're cheap. I'm pretty sure you have them in the fridge right now. But how to make sure each time you cook eggs you can create a little masterpiece?! These egg hacks will surely help you with that! Some people put the eggs in cold water others put water to boiling then drop in the egg. Both methods have advantages and disadvantages. The difference is in how fast you heat up the egg. Starting with cold water, lets you heat the egg more slowly, which keeps the whites from getting rubbery. This method takes longer and gives you less control over the cooking time. Besides the egg will be harder to peel. In boiling water, the egg heats up really fast, making it much easier to control cooking time. But this method has a . Because the egg heats up so fast the shell can crack. And how to get that perfectly peeled egg each time?! Place your eggs in boiling water and cook for a certain amount of time. Today Slime Sam and his pet human Sue will show you how to draw, how to paint, how to design clothes, how to make candles, how to make Lego action figures, how to turn old to new and how to brighten up your night, and all of that is possible with the help of colorful and powerful crayons! FABULOUS CRAYON PENDANT Make this unique piece of jewelry if you like to stand out from the crowd. Think of your own pattern and design a one-of-a-kind necklace that everybody will envy! 1) Grate crayons using a grater. We use blue, purple, white and sky blue crayons with glitter but you can pick different colors and create your own color combination! 2) Fill the pendant base with the crayon shavings, make sure it doesn't overflow. 3) Use a high-temperature industrial blowdryer to heat and melt crayon shavings. If your pendant base is microwavable you can use a microwave oven. 4) Leave the pendant to cool down. 5) Put some hot glue on it and attach a transparent piece of glass as a finishing touch. 2. DRAWING WITH MELTED CRAYONS ON HOT STONES 1) Preheat clean stones in the oven. 2) Draw! Wax crayons don't take the heat that well and they'll melt as soon as you touch the stone. Mix the colors, experiment and make a cool piece of room decor for yourself or a friend! It can be used as a magnet, a paperweight or something else. 3. GIFT CANDLES OUT OF CRAYONS 1) Place a wick in a small glass. 2) Place a glass at an angle. You can use a thin book or an eraser. 3) Using a lighter melt the crayons into a glass. 4) Change the angle and repeat step #3 with a different color. 5) Set the candle straight and even the surface of the candle with the last color. 6) Leave the candle to cool. 4. CRAYON T-SHIRT DESIGN WITH THE IRON 1) Use a large wooden board as a base. 2) Print out a template on self-adhesive paper. 3) Secure the template on the t-shirt. 4) Grate the crayons of your choice using a fine grater. 5) Place the shavings onto the t-shirt creating a design of your own! 6) Cover the template with some baking paper. 7) Melt the picture with the iron. 8) Remove the baking paper and enjoy your stylish clothes! 5. MELTING BROKEN CRAYONS INTO NEW ONES 1) Break the crayons into smaller pieces and separate the colors. 2) Place pieces of each color in a separate silicone baking mold and bake in the oven for a few minutes until melted. 3) Leave it to cool and enjoy your handmade crayons! You can pick any shape of mold you like! Sue went with Lego mini-figures;) 6. BRIGHT CRAYON NIGHLIGHT 1) Take the wrappings of the crayons*. 2) Apply some glue to the lampshade close to the edge and attach the crayon. 3) Repeat until the whole lampshade is covered. 4) Heat the crayons making them drip down the lampshade. *To get rid of the crayon wrapping soak the crayons for a few minutes in water with dish soap. Th wrappings will come right off! 7. CRAYON SEAL OF YOUR OWN 1) Insert a crayon in a gluegun and heat it up. 2) When it's hot apply some wax onto the envelope and seal it with a stamp while the wax is still hot. 3) Leave it to cool. 8. DRIPPING CRAYON DRAWING TECHNIQUE 1) Stick a picture of your choice onto the canvas. 2) Use a glue gun loaded with the crayons to create some interesting and absolutely amazing patterns! 3) Leave it to dry. 9. HOW TO DECORATE A T-SHIRT WITH CRAYONS AND SANDPAPER 1) Use a template to draw a picture on sandpaper. 2) Transfer the image onto a t-shirt by pressing sandpaper with the drawing against and ironing it over. 3) Take it right now and go out, surprise people and share this idea because... It’s definitely something worth knowing if you’re struggling with excess weight. To put that in layman’s terms, it basically measures how fast different foods are digested by the body. Glucose is a simple sugar that gives your body energy, and you get it from the foods you eat. Your blood is what carries this sugar throughout your body to all your hungry cells and tissues. That’s why it’s called blood glucose.
