Insulin resistance is a defense mechanism against the toxic effects of sugar. The body will then compensates by then making more insulin, which causes damages to 4 main cells: endothelial cells (arteries), the retinal cells, the kidney cells and the nerve cells (peripheral cells). These 4 types of cells do not regulate glucose like the rest of the cells in the body. Of course, to prevent diabetes type 2, you need to avoid sugar, get on a low carb diet, and consume lots of nutrient rich nutrients and healthy fats, as well as use intermittent fasting, which can also lower your risks and stress on the insulin hormone. There is something in the mitochondria that gets damaged BEFORE you can even get insulin resistance. Vitamin B1 helps reduce the damage in the mitochondria and if you took a version of B1 called Benfotamine, you could reduce the destruction even more. Hi Guys, Dr. Berg here. In this video I want to share with you some unique insights in preventing diabetes. In most videos that I have I talk about insulin resistance, how to get into ketogenic diet, how to do intermittent fasting to help you with this condition but I want to give you some more understanding of the effects of insulin resistance and what precedes that. The first thing you need to know is that the insulin resistance is really a defense mechanism of the body. It is a protective mechanism against the toxic effect of sugar. What happens is your body develops resistance against insulin to stop the sugar from going into the cell because too much sugar is really bad for the cells. One of the problems with insulin resistance is the body will make a lot more insulin to try to create the effect. We have this protective mechanism and when you don’t change your ways, your body just makes more insulin to drive it through to make it connect because it is trying to lower the sugar so eventually you become a diabetic type 2 and your sugars starts getting higher and higher. Why Are Children Developing Diabetes at Such an Alarming Rate

Take Dr. Berg's Free Keto Mini-Course: http://pxlme.me/-i717vtY Dr. Berg talks about why children are getting diabetes at such an alarming rate. From 2000 to 2009, diabetes type 1 increased at 21%, and in type 2 increased 30%. This video is my opinion and meant to give the consumer new data to research and come up with their own conclusions about the cause and effect relationship between diabetes and it's cause. If someone tells you that this video is untrue and there is no possibility this could happen - simply ask them, "then causes diabetes 1 in children - why the sudden increase?" This is where it breaks down. They will tell you, we don't know. Then ask them, "then why are you so sure that there is no connection between vaccinations, GMO foods, etc. and diabetes - and see what they say. Our children have without a doubt experienced way more vaccinations and GMO foods than most parents ever had. What Causes Diabetes: 1. Vaccinations 2. Alloxan 3. Mother who has insulin resistance 4. 🍬 How To Lower Your A1C Levels - 10 Easy & Clinically Proven Ways - by Dr Sam Robbins

A1C test is a blood tests that gives you an average level of your blood sugar over the previous 90 days. The higher the percentage, the higher your average blood glucose levels are, and the higher your risk for either diabetes or related complications due to chronic high blood sugar and insulin levels. It’s much more accurate than checking your blood sugar levels. Needless to say, all of us will look and feel much better and actually help prevent MOST diseases by keeping your A1C levels lower. So with that said, I’m going to quickly discuss 10 clinically proven ways that you can quickly, easily and naturally improve your blood sugar levels, lower your A1C and help avoid and/or reverse many health problems. 1. Exercise Daily Regular, daily exercise can help you lose unwanted fat. But more importantly, helps improve “insulin sensitivity”. 2. Eat The Correct Carbohydrates When you eat carbs, your body converts it into sugar (mostly glucose). As your blood sugar goes up, your body secretes insulin to help lower it back down to a normal, healthy range. Now, carbs are not evil. However, the wrong carbs, especially in high amounts ARE bad for your health. Focus more on vegetables, some yams, little bit of rice, legumes, quinoa and whole grains. Get rid of the bad carbs and eat less total carbs.(2,3,4,5) 3. Eat More Fiber Fiber has so many benefits and sadly, most people are barely getting any. You should be eating at least 25 grams or more. While most Americans are barely getting around 5-10. 4. Eat Smaller Meals, More Often I’m sure you’ve heard about this when it comes to weight loss. However, one of the reasons for the weight loss is the lower blood sugar levels from eating smaller meals. (9,10,11) 5. Watch What You Drink You should never drink your calories -- no sodas, juices, alcohol, “shakes” or anything similar. They all digest quickly and spike up your blood sugar. 6. Manage Your Stress Levels You can’t have health without also discussing stress management. What’s interesting is that stress increases blood sugar levels AND decreases insulin sensitivity. (15,16) And this is because of a change in hormones such as glucagon, cortisol, testosterone, adrenal hormones and so forth. (17,18) 7. Better Quality Sleep You can’t manage your stress if you don’t get enough, quality sleep. Again, this has to do with a negative changes in your hormones when you don’t sleep well. (20,21) 8. Drink Apple Cider Vinegar Apple cider vinegar, like exercise, helps lower blood sugar levels AND improve insulin sensitivity. (22,23,24). 9. Lose Fat Losing unwanted fat and decreasing your belly fat has numerous health benefits. This is even more true with blood sugar levels because the lower your body fat, the higher your insulin sensitivity. 10. Take Natural Supplements Most people just give up after a week or two since they aren’t getting results fast enough, especially for the amount of time and effort. This is why I always suggest people take natural supplements. ======================================== ======================================== Thank you for watching. The Most Important Nutrient for Diabetics: Benfotiamine

Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz Your report will then be sent via email analyzing 104 potential symptoms, giving you a much deeper insight into the cause-effect relationship of your body issues. It's free and very enlightening. Dr. Berg talks about the most important nutrient for diabetics: Vitamin B1. I recommend the fat soluble version called Benfotiamine. This is a fat-soluble version of B1, which is able to penetrate the myelin sheath of the nerve. i ALSO RECOMMEND getting the other B-vitamins in Nutritional Yeast (unfortified) Without B1, due to high sugars, the vascular system to the nerves suffer. It effects the nervous system and the heart first. It can also effect the memory due to a problem with the mammillary bodies in the brain. The cornea, the retina, the kidney are also effected. Diabetes-The Big Meat & Dairy Connection

Diabetes is not just from Sugar and Carbs. It all starts with animal fats clogging insulin receptors, resulting in high blood sugar, too much insulin production, worn out pancreas, weight gain, fat, and lots of health problems including of course diabetes. The Diabetes - ED Connection

14:06
For men, few things are worse than #erectiledysfunction or #ED. Being unable to performance sexually is not just a problem physically; for reproductive purposes, but can be damaging mentally. While we have explored many of the underlying causes of erectile dysfunction (ED), one that we have yet to discuss is the contribution of #diabetes. Studies have found that 35-75 percent of men with diabetes will develop ED. They will also tend to develop ED 10-15 years sooner than men without diabetes. Generally speaking, diabetes can lead to ED by greatly impairing normal circulatory function and the blood supply to the penis, as well as contribute to hormone imbalances involved. In this video, we want to explore this relationship more deeply and provide some simple, natural solutions. 3,000 YEAR OLD MIRACLE HERB FOR DIABETES, CLOGGED ARTERIES & HEART - Dr Alan Mandelll, DC

05:06
This miracle herb is Ginkgo Biloba. This is the world's oldest living species of tree. Individual trees live as long as 1,000 years. Ginkgo grows most predominantly in the southern and eastern United States, southern France, China, and Korea. The leaves of the tree are used in modern herbal medicine. Clogged arteries result from the build-up of a substance called plaque in the arterial walls. It is also medically referred to as arterial plaque. This plaque can reduce blood flow or even block it altogether. Clogged arteries increase your risk of developing other health complications like a heart attack or stroke. Some of the most common risk factors for clogged arteries are: High levels of LDL (bad cholesterol) or low levels of HDL (good cholesterol) A high blood pressure Smoking tobacco Diabetes or elevated blood sugar levels A family history of atherosclerosis or clogged arteries Stress Obesity A sedentary lifestyle Most cases of clogged arteries do not exhibit any symptoms until a heart attack or blood clot presents itself. However, in cases where 70% or more of the arteries are blocked, you will notice the following symptoms. Severe cases of clogged arteries may exhibit symptoms like: Shortness of breath Sweating Nausea Chest pain or angina Palpitations of the heart Dizziness Weakness Research Articles Efficacy and Safety of Ginkgo Biloba Pills for Coronary Heart Disease with Impaired Glucose Regulation: Study Protocol for a Series of N-of-1 Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trials https://www.hindawi.com/journals/ecam/2018/7571629/ Ginkgo biloba (EGb 761) in arteriosclerosis prophylaxis https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17704974 EGb761, a Ginkgo Biloba Extract, Is Effective Against Atherosclerosis In Vitro, and in a Rat Model of Type 2 Diabetes https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3107221/ Ginkgo suppresses atherosclerosis through downregulating the expression of connexin 43 in rabbits https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3648825/ Michigan Medicine / University of Michigan / Gingko Biloba and how it effects other health conditions. https://www.uofmhealth.org/health-library/hn-2096000 Kindly share this video on your social media so we can educate others worldwide. 🍬 10 Clinically Proven Ways To Lower Blood Sugar & Avoid Diabetes - by Dr Sam Robbins

09:09
Want something better than the 10 ways to lower blood sugar? Here's the formula that lowered my uncle’s blood sugar by 46% naturally: 👉 http://drsam.co/yt/ReverseDiabetes Or go and watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1w65TPrd88 Refferences: 1. http://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2434682 2. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26965765 3. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15331548 4. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1325029/ 5. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19099589 6. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11893482 7. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10731498 8. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2194788 9. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1038/oby.2004.61/full 10. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10372237 11. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12450884 12. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21994426 13. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/108167 14. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11174021 =============================================== 🍬 10 Clinically Proven Ways To Lower Blood Sugar & Avoid Diabetes =============================================== And as of 2017, it’s estimated that over 60% of all US adults have diabetes (15%-18%) or prediabetes (43-45%) 1 However, what’s even worse is that high blood sugar can also cause: High cholesterol High blood pressure Poor blood flow Weight gain Inflammation and arthritis Poor cognition, memory and Alzheimer's Hair loss and wrinkles And more... Basically, high blood sugar accelerates the aging process. So with that said, I’m going to quickly discuss 10 clinically proven ways that you can quickly, easily and naturally improve your blood sugar levels and help avoid and/or reverse many health problems. It’s best to get both soluble and insoluble fiber in your diet because both help improve your blood sugar levels (6,7,8). The best drink is water, or maybe even green tea. Water also flushes your kidneys, cleanses your liver and thus, eliminates excess blood sugar through urine… all of this helps reduce diabetes.(12,13,14) 6. What’s interesting is that you can actually eat MORE carbs, as you decrease your body fat. (25) 10. Take Natural Supplements Most people just give up after a week or two since they aren’t getting results fast enough, especially for the amount of time and effort. This is why I always suggest people take natural supplements. ======================================== ======================================== Thank you for watching. How to write a literature review

09:21
How to write a literature review. It’s easier than you might think! In this video, I demonstrate how to search the literature and identify relevant papers for your literature review. I do a pubmed search using Boolean operators and MeSH terms (these are extremely powerful tools that will help you sift through the large number of academic papers out there). So if you’re doing a master’s thesis or a PhD, or you’re doing research and writing a paper, at some point, you’ll need to do a lit review. A big part of that review is the search and this video is going to help you get that right. You might be doing a systematic literature review or meta-analysis – again, you’ll need to do a good PubMed search that identifies the right studies. Thanks to BMC !!! ----------------------------- This video was sponsored by BMC – (click here to go to BMC: https://goo.gl/RFaUA2 ). As a pioneer of open access publishing, BMC has an evolving portfolio of high-quality peer-reviewed journals including broad interest titles such as BMC Biology and BMC Medicine, specialist journals such as Malaria Journal and Microbiome, and the BMC series. BMC is committed to continual innovation to better support the needs of research communities, ensuring the integrity of the research we publish, and championing the benefits of open research. BMC is part of Springer Nature, giving us greater opportunities to help authors connect and advance discoveries across the world. I’m particularly excited about having BMC’s support because I’ve been working with them for nearly 15 years as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Globalization and Health. I’ve been extremely impressed by them as a company that has integrity and that is truly making the world a better place. LEARN MORE about literature reviews ------------------------------------------------------------ Of course, there is more to a literature review than just the search. You need to have a structured approach to selecting paper, extracting data, writing the review itself and creating a bibliography. For more detail on these aspects of a literature review, go to www.learnmore365.com where I have a full course on literature review (it takes about 30 minutes to complete). Sugar & Refined Carbs Almost Killed Me, but I was Thin and No Diabetes

Why I didn't get diabetes or fat despite all the sugar I ate, by Markus Rothkranz. Facebook: http://www.markusworld.com/facebook/sugarkills Instagram: http://www.markusworld.com/instagram/sugarkills Online Health Store: http://www.markusworld.com/products/sugarkills One of the biggest causes of diabetes is not sugar and carbs like people think (although those do aggravate the problem), but it all starts with animal fats clogging insulin receptors, resulting in high blood sugar, too much insulin production, worn out pancreas, weight gain, fat, and lots of health problems including of course diabetes. Casein, a protein found in milk has the exact same 17 amino acids as the beta cells on your pancreas. In a leaky gut situation _baby’s digestive system is not fully sealed yet_ a lot of those amino acids get into the blood stream and the immune system starts creating antibodies to attack those specific amino acids. These antibodies go throughout the whole bloodstream, reach the pancreas and start attacking the beta cells. Drinking City water Causes Diabetes?

05:56
It is conspiracy theory time, or is it? The link to the pubmed article I discussed in the video is pinned in the comment section. In this video I discuss flouride in city drinking water, and what effects it has on insulin spikes in rats. I left a few articles in the comment sectionso you can do your own research and come to your own conclusion. I first learned this topic watching a video that Thomas DeLauer did on breaking fast. After watching I decided to research the flouride statement and found that flouride spikes insulin therefor breaks a fast. In the US they add flrouride to drinking water. If flouride is added to drinking water and we drink the recommended amount through out the day we are constantly spiking insulin. The constant insulin spike cause us to be insulin resistant, ie diabetic.

Fasting | How Fasting Affects Insulin | Peripheral Insulin Resistance- Thomas DeLauer

Click Here to Subscribe: http://Bit.ly/ThomasVid Website: http://ThomasDeLauer.com Get the Apparel I Wear at http://www.Hylete.com Fasting | How Fasting Affects Insulin | Peripheral Insulin Resistance- Thomas DeLauer Study - Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism: Glucose and glutathione (GHS) metabolism was studied after 12 and 60 hours of fasting on two occasions: with and without aspirin (6 g/d) t. 6 healthy lean men participated and, as mentioned, underwent 60 hours of fasting with or without aspirin (approximately 6 g/d). Fasting decreased insulin-mediated peripheral glucose uptake by 46% after 60 h and Aspirin did not alter this effect of 60 hours of fasting on insulin sensitivity. GSH concentration decreased during fasting, but the fractional synthetic rate of GSH was unaffected either with or without aspirin. Fasting did not affect inflammatory parameters, although aspirin increased soluble TNF receptors I and II. Researchers concluded that prolonged fasting induces profound peripheral IR - in contrast to type 2 diabetes mellitus, high-dose salicylate does not affect fasting-induced peripheral IR. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18056775 Why Does this Occur? Generally, prolonged fasting (greater than 48 hours) in humans is accompanied by a reduction in insulin sensitivity, elevated plasma FFA levels, elevated intramuscular fat levels, but also an increase in whole-body fat oxidative capacity. Furthermore, prolonged fasting-induced insulin resistance is not accompanied by hyperglycemia or hyperinsulinemia, factors that have been suggested to cause mitochondrial dysfunction in diabetes. It could therefore be anticipated that despite the development of insulin resistance, mitochondrial function is maintained to accommodate increased fat oxidation during prolonged fasting. Conversely, if (lipid-induced) insulin resistance or factors associated with the insulin-resistant state do cause mitochondrial dysfunction, it’s believed a reduction in mitochondrial function with prolonged fasting would occur. Prolonged fasting, however, is a physiologic condition in which insulin resistance develops to spare glucose for utilization by the brain, and increased FFA levels are accompanied by increased fat oxidation. Prolonged fasting-induced lipid accumulation and insulin resistance are considered to be a functional physiologic response. As mentioned, reduced insulin sensitivity saves carbs for the central nervous system, being obligate for glucose and not requiring insulin for its uptake, whereas increased lipid availability at the same time can serve as a direct available energy source for the muscles and is paralleled by an enhanced fat oxidative capacity. FFA & Mitochondria: Elevated plasma free fatty acids induce insulin resistance through activation of Jun NH(2)-terminal kinase and nuclear factor-kappaB inhibitor kappaB kinase, which leads to hyperphosphorylation of the insulin receptor substrate type 1 (IRS1). Study – Diabetes: In this study, FFA levels were increased approximately ninefold after 60 hours of fasting in healthy male subjects, leading to elevated intramuscular lipid levels and decreased muscular insulin sensitivity These findings confirm that the insulin-resistant state has negative effects on mitochondrial function. Given the low insulin and glucose levels after prolonged fasting, hyperglycemia and insulin action can be excluded as underlying mechanisms, pointing toward elevated plasma FFA and/or intramuscular fat accumulation as possible causes for the observed reduction in mitochondrial capacity. The increased exposure of skeletal muscle mitochondria to elevated levels of free fatty acids (FFA), seen in insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes, has been suggested to interfere with proper mitochondrial function. The acute elevation of plasma FFA by lipid infusion is accompanied by down-regulation of the transcriptional co-activator peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator-1α (PGC1α) and other genes involved in mitochondrial metabolism. http://diabetes.diabetesjournals.org/content/59/9/2117 References: 1) Van der Crabben SN , et al. Why Potatoes are Great For Diabetes

08:57
I lost count a long time ago of the number of people who have completely cured their diabetes and ceased all related medication by following a Spud Fit Challenge. My favourite story was from Robert, who had lived with type 2 diabetes for over 30 years. He had tried everything, followed doctor’s orders religiously and had only limited success. He decided to try a Spud Fit Challenge and in only two weeks he had stopped all medication his blood sugar and insulin levels were consistently great! Six months later he had successfully transitioned to a whole food plant based diet and was still free from all diabetes symptoms. The above paragraph is my standard answer whenever people ask me about how potatoes will affect their diabetes. It sounds extreme but in my experience results are typical. This works for everyone, every time. The science is so well established on this that it really should be common knowledge. Why this is not something your doctor is likely to tell you about is a post for another time. This week Laura asked me to explain why potatoes are so great for treating diabetes. She wanted to know the mechanism behind it all. So today I’m going to attempt to explain this. YES--Insulin Resistance/Diabetes is CAUSED by Fat Intake

14:29
The information on the internet can be very confusing about what causes diabetes/insulin resistance and how to reverse it. One camp says it's carbs, then the opposite camp says it's fats. Which one is true? In this video, I examine deeply how these studies are designed to get at the bottom of the issue. Which fats cause insulin resistance specifically: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1991575 Each fat contributes to specific aspects of insulin resistance: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3307791/ Study that says fat does NOT cause insulin resistance: http://www.nature.com/ijo/journal/v35/n6/full/ijo2010209a.html Eric Berg: Fat Does NOT Cause Insulin Resistance with Studies Cited below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpedthIpUnY www.thefruitdoctor.com

Reversing Type 2 Diabetes: Top 6 Solutions by Nature Crazy

05:27
At the core, type 2 diabetes is a consequence of an electron diminution. In other words, a decreased ability for the body to create sufficient levels of antioxidant enzymes such as glutathione, catalase, and superoxide dismutase. A poor diet, excessive weight gain, and environmental toxins over time can increase free radicals or unpaired electrons in the body causing damage to body tissues unless there are enough cells that can produce adequate amounts of antioxidant enzymes. The good news is there are several 100% natural supplements and foods you can use on a regular basis that will naturally reverse this type of damage and get your body back to a point of health. In today’s video Nature Crazy goes over its top 6 tips to reversing type 2 diabetes. 1. Type 2 diabetes is caused by insulin resistance so supplementing with alpha lipoic acid on an ongoing regular basis is a good idea because it is shown to have an insulin mimicking effect by carrying glucose to the muscles. http://www.iherb.com/jarrow-formulas-r-alpha-lipoic-acid-with-biotin-60-capsules/38441?rcode=gsv403 2. Supplementing with Iodine on a regular basis to support a properly working thyroid is a great idea because almost anyone suffering from type 2 diabetes has an undiagnosed low thyroid, despite lab work divulging “standard ranges. http://www.iherb.com/tpcs-iosol-formula-ii-1-fl-oz-30-ml/4785?rcode=gsv403 3. Supplementing with Co-enzyme Q10 on a regular basis is important because it will reduce inflammation and help fuel the mitochondria. There have been a number of clinical trials that have shown COQ10 can improve glycemic control and lower plasma insulin. http://www.iherb.com/mrm-coq-10-100-mg-60-softgels/22808?rcode=gsv403 4. Supplement with Green Tea Phytosome on a regular basis. Various studies have shown the beneficial effects of green tea, not only on cardiovascular diseases but also on obesity and type 2 diabetes itself. This is because Green tea is a powerful suppressor of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma. http://www.iherb.com/thorne-research-green-tea-phytosome-60-veggie-caps/18518?rcode=gsv403 5. Supplementing with a high quality probiotic on a daily basis is a great idea because it has a positive impact on the health of your intestinal flora. There is also emerging evidence that shows giving one's self good bacteria can greatly enhance glucose metabolism. http://www.iherb.com/jarrow-formulas-saccharomyces-boulardii-mos-30-capsules/9871?rcode=gsv403 6. The field of epigenetics which was a direct result of the research carried out by the Human Genome Project has transformed the way we understand biology and medicine. Science has now shown us that the human body is not just a biological machine but more of a vibrational energy force, governed by quantum physics, hence the success of the placebo effect. It turns out, the mind-body connection goes much deeper than we originally thought and one of the best therapies for bridging this connection is yoga. In addition to helping relieve stress and anxiety, the exercises that yoga provides also lower blood sugar levels and helps to alleviate one of the main marks of diabetes: hypoglycemia. Yogic exercise has also been shown to lower triglyceride levels along with LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, both of which are often accompanying symptoms for diabetes. Try working in a yoga session into your routine one to two times per week. Thanks for watching. In this video we debunk some of the common misconceptions about #sugar. Sugar is often blamed for most of our ails everything from #cancer, #diabetes to #weightloss and more. However, what's interesting is that we today as a nation actually consume LESS sugar than ever before, yet the rates of these chronic diseases are at their highest. This must mean there is some other culprit other than sugar. Video abstract of review paper Type 2 diabetes in Brazil: epidemiology and management published in the open access journal Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity: Targets and Therapy by Bianca de Almeida-Pititto, Monike Lourenço Dias, Ana Carolina Franco de Moraes et al. Abstract: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is one of the most important epidemic diseases in the world this century, and accounts for 90% of cases of diabetes globally. Brazil is one of the most important examples of the alarming picture of T2DM in emergent societies, being the country with the fourth largest number of people with diabetes. The aim of this paper is to review the literature on diabetes in Brazil, specifically looking at the epidemiology and management of T2DM. A literature search was conducted using PubMed and LILACS to identify articles containing information on diabetes in Brazil. Official documents from the Brazilian government, World Health Organization, and International Diabetes Federation were also reviewed. How Bitter Melon Lowers Blood Sugar

03:34
Bitter melon is a unique vegetable-fruit that has many purported benefits. There appears to be some inconsistency regarding its classification as a fruit (it has seeds) or vegetable (it is eaten as a vegetable). Nonetheless, it's main purported benefit is it's blood sugar lowering effect, which is the main topic in this video. Studies have shown it acts as an "insulin mimetic" in addition to stimulating glucose lowering via the AMPK catabolic signaling pathway. Bitter melon is also a staple food in the longevity Blue Zone Okinawa. I've always known about the benefits of bitter melon, but at the 2018 ACSM Minneapolis science meeting, I learn not only about its blood sugar lowering benefits but also that an easy way to consume it in a practical and feasible way is through juicing it. And it only takes ~ 3 oz for a significant benefit according to that study at the conference, which is just a shot. The way I incorporate bitter melon is simply juicing it and having a 3 oz shot a couple of days per week every now and then. Like many things, it's about the overall contribution of things not just one thing. So I see bitter melon is simply another tool in the health-promoting toolbox so to speak. But it is a fascinating food with unique benefits and it is strongly supported by scientific research. How to Support Healthy Blood Sugar Levels (Healthytarian Minutes ep. 39)

02:01
Healthytarian Minutes with holistic teacher Evita Ochel (http://www.evitaochel.com). This episode explains how different macronutrients impact our blood glucose levels and risk of diabetes, and provides guidance on how to maintain and support healthy blood sugar levels. Learn how to eat an optimal diet for your health and weight with the "Eat Real Food: Whole-Food, Plant-Based Eating" online video program. Enjoy an instant discount with this coupon: https://www.udemy.com/whole-food-plant-based-diet/?couponCode=youtube25 Video Transcript: Carbohydrates, protein and fat are three macronutrients that we require for proper health. How each of these will impact our health and specifically blood glucose will predominantly depend on their quality, in terms of what food sources they come from, and quantity. Whole-food versions of these three macronutrients, especially from plant sources, are supportive, where as refined or processed versions of these are destructive to our health and weight. While it is true that refined carbohydrates can spike blood sugar and are not a healthy option for many reasons beyond blood glucose alone, research shows that the most troublesome culprit for blood glucose levels and increased diabetes risk is the fat type and quantity in the diet. This means diets high in fat, especially saturated fat from animal sources, and oils. Generally, protein has neutral effects on blood glucose levels, but many high-protein foods are also high-fat animal foods, which don’t equate to better blood glucose, health or weight in the longterm. Ultimately, isolated nutrients are not the solution to better health, but the type and amount of the food you eat. The healthiest thing you can do to support healthy blood glucose levels is to: Maintain a healthy weight or lose any excess weight. - Eat a diet made of whole foods, especially plant foods. - Eat a diet that is naturally low in fat. - Eat a diet that is high fiber, which is highly effective at providing satiety, slowing gastric emptying and being favorable for blood glucose levels. Keto and Fiber: Everything You Need to Know

10:11
Click Here to Subscribe: http://Bit.ly/ThomasVid Check Out NuPasta Featured in this Video: https://amzn.to/2xD5Lvj My Website: http://ThomasDeLauer.com Keto and Fiber: Everything You Need to Know - Thomas DeLauer Sources of Fiber on Keto: One avocado contains less than four net carbs, but a 13.5 g of fiber One ounce (oz) of chia seeds offers 10 g of fiber (and a net carbs total of 2 g) One tablespoon of ground flax boasts 2 g of fiber and 0 net carbs. A 1-cup serving of cauliflower veggie has only about 3 net carbs and 2 g of fiber. One oz of pumpkin seed kernels yields a little more than 1 g of net carbs, and nearly 2 g of fiber. 1 cup of broccoli has 6g total carb and 2.4g fiber A 100 g serving (3.5 oz) of raw spinach contains only 1.4 g net carbs and 2.2 g fiber A cup of raw asparagus (4.7 oz) 2.2 g net carbs and 2.8 g fiber Soluble fiber Soluble fiber dissolves in liquids and becomes gel-like in the digestive tract It slows digestion, increases satiety, and when consumed with carbohydrates can slow intestinal absorption and can help minimize increases in postprandial blood glucose Soluble fiber is predominantly found in fruits and legumes, which are not advised on a ketogenic diet, and small amounts are found in vegetables Insoluble fiber Insoluble fiber does not dissolve like soluble fiber does. This type of fiber stays intact and is responsible for what people refer to as “roughage” when speaking of fiber This type of fiber aids in digestion and promotes elimination of waste by the colon Benefits of Both Feeling satiated or full longer after meals: Soluble fiber slows down how quickly foods are digested, meaning most people feel full longer after fiber-rich meals. Insoluble fiber physically fills up space in the stomach and intestines, furthering the sensation of being full. These properties can help people manage their weight. NuPasta (Glucomannan - soluble) Regular pasta is made with wheat, a starch which obviously has calories - NuPasta is made with the root of the konjac plant which is rich in dietary fiber and has no starch The absence of starch is the reason why NuPasta is so low in calories - full serving has 6g of carbs A full plate (210g) of regular cooked pasta contains about 300 calories and 2g of dietary fiber, the same amount of NuPasta contains 25 calories and 6g of dietary fiber - NuPasta is also gluten free All NuPasta products are made with water, non-GMO soy, and konjac Resistant Starch (Insoluble) Some starch is actually resistant to digestion, so that it passes through the digestive system unchanged - this type of starch is called resistant starch, and it functions like soluble, fermentable fiber in the gut A study published in the American Society for Microbiology found that a raw potato diet (RS2) caused human-derived fecal communities to show a major rise in Bacteroides and Eubacterium rectale (beneficial bacteria that thrive on RS2), due to the diet over-feeding them with their preferred food source References 1) Chearskul S , et al. How to Lower Blood Sugar FASTEST!

02:56
Sometimes the simplest solutions are right under our nose. In this video, I specifically illustrate the benefit of "Striking the Spike" in relation to addressing post-meal blood sugar spikes, which are quite common. This 2-5 min strategy is highly effective, safe, side-effect free, feasible and practical for everyone. It truly embody's the message that "Exercise is Medicine," in this case simply "Movement is Medicine." Healthy Powdered Sugar! All Natural Zero Calorie Best Low Glycemic Sweetener for Diabetics

01:57
All Natural Healthy Powdered Sugar, ZERO calorie thats great for diabetics- wow! It’s actually an antioxidant. Zero Glycemic, Zero Insulin Response, Zero Side Effects! Great for diabetics. Tastes and used just like sugar. Simply Amazing. Made from Lohan Guo Monkfruit and Erythritol. Erythritol is a natural substance found naturally in some fruits and even in the human body. It’s been used since 1870 and tested over 100 years with ZERO side effects!  In fact, it is classified as an ANTIOXIDANT! this revolutionary sweetener can totally replace sugar with zero side effects. It passes right through the body without being absorbed and has no effect on the gastrointestinal tract- no gas, no diarrhea, nothing except a sweet taste on your tongue! It tastes like brown sugar with a hint of caramel. Does not raise blood sugar or insulin! Does not cause cavities or feed Candida or yeast! Does not cause digestive distress like Xylitol, sorbitol etc. Won’t create weight gain. It’s actually classified as an antioxidant that fights free radicals. Great for low-carb diets and light years better tasting than Stevia. Humans don’t have the enzymes to break down erythritol. It gets absorbed into the bloodstream and is then excreted unchanged in the urine. When healthy people are given erythritol, there is no change in blood sugar or insulin levels. There is also no effect on cholesterol, triglycerides or other biomarkers. Most of it gets absorbed into the body way before it gets to the colon, where most of the bacteria reside. From the small intestine, it travels into the bloodstream. There it circulates for a while, until it is eventually excreted unchanged in the urine. About 90% of erythritol gets excreted this way. Even though some amount of erythritol were to reach the intestinal bacteria, they can not digest it. ARTICLES: Great for diabetics. it’s actually an antioxidant https://www.goldenlotusherbs.com/index.php?pageid=2&itemid=878 DOES NOT CAUSE CAVITIES- Multiple studies have examined the effects erythritol has on dental caries and show a reduction in plaque and the harmful bacteria, while another study shows no actual reduction in caries.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24852946   Dosen’t cause diarrhea https://www.researchgate.net/publication/223909023_Laxative_threshold_of_sugar_alcohol_erythritol_in_human_subjects Will not create weight gain https://authoritynutrition.com/erythritol/ “Is this sweetener safe for Children?” Yes. But do not train your child to only want sweets. They need to learn to appreciate the importance of a balanced healthy diet, which includes bitter foods for proper digestion, nutrient assimilation and liver function. “Is this sweetener safe for Dogs?” Surprisingly yes. Here is a published scientific study. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8933641 “Can this sweetener be used for baking and cooking?” Yes it can be used like normal sugar. I do not advocate baking anything though. High heat kills the life force and enzymes in food, which is a major factor in today’s illnesses. Get our uncookbook “Love on a Plate” for amazing healthy versions of your favorite meals and desserts that have not be heated over 118F, 45C, using a dehydrator instead of an oven. For people who are overweight, with diabetes or other issues related to the metabolic syndrome, erythritol appears to be an excellent alternative to sugar. 10 Natural ways to treat type 2 diabetes #diabetes

04:20
Type 2 diabetes affects an estimated to be 225,840 in Ireland. In this video I share with you my top 10 natural ways to treat type 2 diabetes. The International Diabetes Federation Diabetes Atlas (2013) estimate that there are 207,490 people with diabetes in Ireland in the 20 – 79 age group (prevalence of 6.5% in the population) which is in line with previous estimates that by 2020 there would be 233,000 people with the condition, and by 2030 there would be 278,850 people with the condition. Type 2 Diabetes According to the Healthy Ireland survey, 854,165 adults over 40 in the Republic of Ireland are at increased risk of developing (or have) Type 2 diabetes. More alarmingly, there are a further 304,382 in the 30 – 39 year age group that are overweight and not taking the weekly 150 minutes recommended physical activity, leaving them at an increased risk of chronic ill-health. This means that there are 1,158,547 adults in Ireland that need to consider making changes to their daily behaviours in terms of eating healthily and being more active. It is estimated that there are over 15,600 people over 80 years of age living with Type 2 diabetes based on the TILDA study which showed a prevalence of 11.9% in the over 75 age group. The International Diabetes Federation’s (2012) estimates that by 2030 there will be 278,850 people with the condition ( prevalence of 7.5% in the population).
