The Object.assign() Method in JavaScript - Set default options for functions
The assign() method on the Object constructor in JavaScript is used to merge multiple objects together. You can use it to merge as many objects as you like. If multiple objects have the same property, the "merged object" will also contain that property but the value of it will come from the last object passed in as an argument. This means it can be used to easily create "default options" within a function. In this video I take you through examples of how you can use the Object.assign() method and also an example of using it to create default options in a function. TS Default Parameters
In this video I'll demonstrate how to set default values for function parameters. Some programming languages let you define a function with default parameter values like this: public void AddToCart(string productName, decimal price, int quantity = 1, string currency = "USD") { // logic here } In fact, with ES2015 we can now do very much the same thing. A nice feature in other languages that is not available in JavaScript is calling a function with named parameters. Named parameters let us quickly override default parameter values. To call this function and override the currency value but accept the default values for all other parameters preceding it would look something like this: AddToCart("Bicycle", 100.00, currency: "CAD"); I call AddToCart with a product name and a price. Then I supply the function a currency parameter with the value of 'CAD' for Canadian Dollars. The value of the quantity parameter will be 1 as that is the default value in the function's signature. In JavaScript, specifically ES2015, we now have access to default parameters. In addition, we also have destructuring which provides a way to extract the values we need. What I'm going to show you won't work in ES5 so you'll need a transpiler like Babel or TypeScript. I'll be using TypeScript here but you can find the ES2015 solution in the notes below.

Like the program itself, a function is composed of a sequence of statements called the function body. Values can be passed to a function, and the function will return a value. In JavaScript, functions are first-class objects, because they can have properties and methods just like any other object. What distinguishes them from other objects is that functions can be called. In brief, they are Function objects. For more examples and explanations, see also the JavaScript guide about functions. Description Every function in JavaScript is a Function object. See Function for information on properties and methods of Function objects. Functions are not the same as procedures. A function always returns a value, whereas a procedure might not. To return a value other than the default, a function must have a return statement that specifies the value to return. A function without a return statement will return a default value. In the case of a constructor called with the new keyword, the default value is the value of its this parameter. For all other functions, the default return value is undefined. The parameters of a function call are the function's arguments. Arguments are passed to functions by value. If the function changes the value of an argument, this change is not reflected globally or in the calling function.

1. HTML5 Custom Video Player Controls JavaScript Programming Tutorial
Lesson Code: http://www.developphp.com/video/JavaScript/Video-Player-Custom-Controls-Programming-Tutorial In this first part of the tutorial series we will discuss how to set up a custom controls interface starting with the play/pause button. Customizing the HTML5 video controls interface will allow you to achieve a unique and constant look for your video player in all browser software. Different browser software display different looking default controls for the video element. You can also offer your custom programmed video players to others to use on their websites if they also do not want to use the stock controls that are native to browser software for the video element. We use JavaScript to control the video after we remove the default controls. We used to do very similar things in Flash AS3 if you remember. We are going to begin with disabling the default control bar and setting up our own control bar design using a DIV that we can place all of our video controls into as we create them. In this part 1 we will add a play/pause button to the control bar, then in the videos that follow we will customize more aspects of video control interfacing.

Working with a select list in Angular Template Driven forms 2. How to have one of the select list option selected by default 3. How to disable select list Let us understand working with a select element in Angular with a simple example. We want to include "Department" select list. For the HTML used in the demo, please refer to my blog using the link below http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2018/01/angular-bootstrap-select-list.html At the moment, we have hard coded the select list options in the HTML. In our next video we will discuss, how to get the select list options from the component class. Notice each option also has a corresponding value. The value is the department id which is what we want to save in the database table when the form is submitted. We will discuss, saving the data to a database table in a later video. At this point, when we select an option, the corresponding option value is included against the "department" property in the Angular auto-generated form model. Also when we click the "Save" button, the "department" property along with the selected option value is logged to the console in browser developer tools. How to have one of the select list option selected by default If we include "selected" attribute on one of the options of the select list, we expect that option to be selected by default when the form initially loads, but when the form reloads, the respective option will not be selected. If you remove the "ngModel" directive from the select list, then the the option gets selected as expected. In Angular, we use "ngModel" directive for two-way data binding. So the moment we put it back in place the "selected" attribute does not work. To make it work include "department" property in the component class and initialise it with one of the option value which you want to have selected by default. In our case, we want the "IT" option to be selected by default. The "IT option value is "3". So, I have initialised "department" property with a value of '3' department = '3' At this point you will have "IT" option selected by default when the form loads. Now, even if we remove the "selected" attribute from the "IT" option, it is still selected by default when the form loads. This is because of the two-way data binding that we get with "ngModel" directive. How to disable a select list : To disable a select element, use the disabled attribute Another important point to keep in mind. By default, disabled form controls are not included in the Angular auto generated form model. Since, the "department" select element is disabled, it will not be included in the Angular generated form model. In our form, we do not want the select element to be disabled, so please remove the disabled attribute. Also, we do not want any option to be selected by default, so remove the "department" property from the component class. In our next video, we will discuss, how to get the select list options from the component class, instead of having them hard-coded in the HTML.

Javascript Object and Prototypes Tutorial for beginners in HINDI | ENGLISH (#5) 'this' keyword
Types of function call and 'this' keyword reference A function's this keyword behaves a little differently in JavaScript compared to other languages. It also has some differences between strict mode and non-strict mode. Global Context ==================== In the global execution context (outside of any function), this refers to the global object whether in strict mode or not. // In web browsers, the window object is also the global object: console.log(this === window); // true a = 37; console.log(window.a); // 37 this.b = "Online Web Tutor"; console.log(window.b) // "Online Web Tutor" console.log(b) // "Online Web Tutor" Function context ================== Inside a function, the value of this depends on how the function is called. 1. Simple call The following code is not in strict mode, and because the value of this is not set by the call, this will default to the global object, which is window in a browser. function f1() { return this; } // In a browser: f1() === window; // true In strict mode, however, the value of this remains at whatever it was set to when entering the execution context, so, in the following case, this will default to undefined: function f2() { 'use strict'; // see strict mode return this; } f2() === undefined; // true Important videos to watch Part#4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFUxzOth5Fs Part#3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-hsHAvK5FE Part#2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfO7WvVR2pE Part#1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Bu_RtIkKfY SOCIAL : =============== Subscribe : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCB2flCo-gW6RhpVVXySqcMg FACEBOOK : https://www.facebook.com/onlinewebtutorhub/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/owthub BLOG: https://onlinewebtutorhub.blogspot.in/ Also you can learn Wordpress Custom =============== Wordpress Theme Development: https://goo.gl/MZ8maF Wordpress Widget Development: https://goo.gl/Dc2htn Wordpress Plugin Development: https://goo.gl/BA7dYG Wordpress Theme Options Development: https://goo.gl/Vjv3Ub Learn backbone.js here! : https://goo.gl/Qd2Pcs Tags =============== javascript object, concpet of object in javascript, objects in javascript, javascript object tutorial, javascript objects guidemap, objects in javascript step by step in hindi, objects in javascript step by step, objects in javascript step by step tutorial in hindi, objects in javascript in hindi, javascript objects in hindi, objects and prototypes in javascript, prototype in javascript, javascripts objects and prototypes in hindi, javascript prototype tutorial in hindi Working with objects - JavaScript, javascript objects for beginners, javascript objects beginners tutorial, javascript objects beginners tutorial in hindi, objects in javascript from scratch, javascript objects and prototypes from scratch in hindi, online web tutor, profotech solutions, Thanks Online Web Tutor Keep learning and Sharing :)

How to Display Code as Code in a Browser
How do you format code to look like code in browsers? How to get monospacing, styling, and syntax highlight to display on a website in any language. I'll show you how in this video and include steps in the description below. ★☆★ DOWNLOAD KOMODO ► http://bit.ly/Komodo-IDE-Learn-Ruby ★☆★ Komodo is one of the best Editors/IDE's for Ruby programming. If you already have an editor, I recommend trying out Komodo. I've tried all the others and I still came back to Komodo. This is important for when you're sharing code on your own blog or website. You need to be able to share your sample code while still allowing the using to highlight the text. Here's the code: Put this script (with script tags) inside your head tags: https://cdn.rawgit.com/google/code-prettify/master/loader/run_prettify.js?lang=ruby&skin=sunburst" Make sure to include the opening and closing script src= tags like I show in the video. (YouTube doesn't allow me to include brackets in this description field.) Wrap your code in this(Don't forget the brackets): pre class="prettyprint" Here's the standard prettify script skin names: default, desert, sunburst, sons-of-obsidian, doxy See what each skin/theme looks like here: https://cdn.rawgit.com/google/code-prettify/master/styles/index.html Prettify Github page: https://github.com/google/code-prettify Prettify Getting Starting page: https://github.com/google/code-prettify/blob/master/docs/getting_started.md Bonus video: Carlos Garcia talk at DevPoint Labs about why he loves Ruby: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FoRISsHs_s
