Sure, a lot of you starting now have some smarts, a good job, and are willing to work hard. All that sets you in the right direction, but over the long-term, over a multi-decade career that simply will not be enough to be truly successful. My 7 Key Success Factors for Business Networking There are two areas I want to review about networking: what makes it successful and how to actually do it! So, let’s review my seven key principles for how to do it successfully and then a five step plan of attack to execute those principles. 1. It’s an all-the-time thing. 2. Give value first. Take second. 3. Give more than you take. 4. Do it live. 5. Do what you say you’re going to do—build trust. 6. Move it forward and expand their network. 7. Build a systematic plan that allows you to execute. My 5-Step Plan to Build a Healthy Professional Network A. Set your networking goals. There are many, but let’s talk about four: • Educations and advancement of your knowledge • Camaraderie • Job hunting • Grow customers, partnerships, etc. B. Build your relationship map by doing your research. C. Identify 60 to 100 people you can connect with who can help you meet your goals. D. Prepare standard messages you can modify. E. “E” is for execute. Adjust your plan according. -------------------- ABOUT ANDREW -------------------- Andrew LaCivita is an internationally recognized executive recruiter, award-winning author, trainer, and founder and chief executive officer of milewalk and the milewalk Academy. LinkedIn has been around since 2003, and has more than 400 million users across 200 countries, and happens to be a very powerful tool when it comes to networking with key people in almost any industry. Plus, the caliber of people it attracts is very interesting, every user has an average household income of $109,000. And most users on Linkedin are looking for partnerships and business deals, making it a very effective tool for business. So if you want to leverage the power of this social network, it is important to follow Linkedin best practices. So here are the top 3 LinkedIn tips for business success: Tip 1: Complete your profile. Completing your profile in full is among the top Linkedin best practices. According to Forbes, members with 100% full profiles receive 46% more profile page views than those who don’t. Therefore, make sure you have all the below elements filled in: -A profile picture: It should be your headshot facing the camera with a plain background. Avoid cropped pictures or blurry ones as you can come across as unprofessional. -A headline: Your headline should act as your unique selling proposition, also known as “marketing hook”. Avoid just listing your job title, as a Linkedin headline should be benefit driven. For example, instead of writing “Webinar Expert”, write “I help businesses generate online sales of $5,000 to $30,000 or more every month starting from scratch”. -A summary: A Linkedin summary is the first element of your profile people read so it’s important to list your important accomplishments, your values, your passion, your mission, your skills, your experience, your uniqueness, your education or qualifications and endorsements. Add the bottom of your summary, remember to add a call to action. -Your experience: In this section break down your achievements in chronological order to underline your experience and skills in your subject. Avoid turning this section into an online version of your resume. -You skills: List 10 skills relevant to your area of expertise. The more endorsements you receive for each skill, the higher the chance of making your profile rank higher in Linkedin’s search results. By following the Linkedin best practices mentioned above, your profile will almost act as a sales page for you and your business. Plus, your profile should include certain keywords so it is optimised for search. Once your profile has been filled in detail according to the Linkedin guide above, you will be allocated one of these 5 profile strengths to gauge your level: 1. Beginner 2. Intermediate 3. Advanced 4. Expert 5. All-Star Ideally, you should aim at being “advanced”, “expert” or “all star”. Tip 2: Grow your connections. If you are on Linkedin, aim at having a minimum of 500 connections. There are many ways you can do so. You can use the “advanced search” tool, to find key people to connect with and then send them a personalized connection request. This will take time but a high percentage of people will accept your connection request. You can also send connection requests to people who have given you their business cards. Another option is adding a Linkedin badge on your website and the link to your Linkedin profile below every email you send. Linkedin also allows you to send connection requests to your entire email database, in just a few clicks. Remember, the more connections you have, the greater your reach and the more opportunities you will have to get in touch with potential clients and business partners. Tip 3: Post compelling and relevant content. Like any social network, Linkedin is a powerful content marketing tool. It allows you to publish 2 types of content. The first type is “updates” which are short posts and the second type is “posts” which allows you to publish long-form posts. In order for your content to remain relevant and compelling, make sure you use Linkedin’s “trending content tool” and its “content marketing score”. The trending content tool ranks the topics that resonate the most with your specific audience so you can tailor your content accordingly and give people more of what they want. The content marketing score tool measures your audience’s engagement with your content and provides recommendation on how to improve. By tracking your content using both tools and improving your content following the Linkedin guide above, don’t be surprised if you start experiencing more engagement and generating more buzz. So to recap, here are the top 3 Linkedin tips: Tip 1: Complete your profile Tip 2: Grow your connections Tip 3: Publish compelling and relevant content So I hope you’ve enjoyed this Linkedin guide on the top 3 Linkedin tips for business. What is Linkedin? Linkedin is a fantastic tool for business as it is a dedicated business network. Linkedin users who join the network always have a business-related interest for doing so. Apart from being mainly used as a platform for professional networking, what also makes Linkedin a powerful social media platform is the fact that it mainly attracts a highly educated, relatively mature, professional audience. Plus, Linkedin now has 400 million users. Like any other social network, it allows you to connect with people you know personally or through other people, it allows you to send private messages to your connections and also allows you to publish updates which are short messages that your connections can see in their timeline. LinkedIn also allows you to have followers, which are people who subscribe to see your updates in their timeline, and allows you to follow people too so you can receive their updates in your timeline. And, just like Facebook and their Facebook page option for businesses, Linkedin also gives the opportunity to brands to set up a Linkedin company page or a showcase page. A Linkedin company page can only be created if you already have a Linkedin profile and allows you to market your business and also benefit from “sponsored updates” advertising. Sponsored updates are posts published from your Linkedin page that can be promoted for a fee to appear on the newsfeed of people who don’t necessarily follow your page. A showcase page is an extension of your company page. It allows you to showcase certain areas of your business, such as a certain department or a certain product. Linkedin showcase pages therefore allow you to segment your audience and publish more laser-targeted content for that specific audience. Concerning LinkedIn profiles and connections (which are the people who belong to your Linkedin network), there are 3 levels of connections: 1st degree connections are your connections, which could be people you know personally such as friends, colleagues and family members. 2nd degree connections are the contacts of your 1st degree connections. 3rd degree connections are contacts connected to your 2nd degree connections. You will be able to identify the types of connections people belong to, by checking the number on the right hand, side next to their name. On LinkedIn, there is also a publishing platform called “pulse” which allows you to publish articles, just like a blog. When you do, it helps with building your audience, increasing traffic to your website as well as helps you establish an expert status in your industry. One of the top Linkedin tips ever shared is to consistently publish long form posts on “pulse” as Linkedin notifies by email all your connections when you do, allowing you to received added exposure. How to use Linkedin When it comes to using LinkedIn for business, there are certain rules to follow. The first rule is to have a plan and specific objectives you wish to achieve for your business to then be able to figure who you need to connect with using the quick search and advanced search tool in order to achieve these goals. The second rule is to create a profile that is filled in depth and that does not read like a resume. Instead, it should underline how your business helps solve problems. The third rule is segmenting your connections by using “tags”. Tags are the equivalent of folders which allow you to segment your contact into different categories. When you do, you will be able to find contacts who belong to certain categories and then send a customized message to all these contacts, making your marketing efforts much more effective. The fourth rule is connecting with people in a personalized manner and nurturing the relationship with your connections. For example, when you want to send a connection invitation, instead of sending the default message “I'd like to add you to my professional network on LinkedIn” write a more personalized message underlining why you wish to connect with that particular person. Then, on a regular basis, make sure you nurture that relationship by endorsing their skills, commenting and liking their posts and sending them private messages. Remember, when used effectively, LinkedIn can allow you to get exposure for free, secure quality business deals, generate very qualified leads and help you benefit from quality endorsements. So I hope you’ve enjoyed these LinkedIn tips on how to use Linkedin for business, remember to share this video, like it and leave a comment below. Ultimate Business Marketing Strategy: How to Make A Good LinkedIn Profile For Sourcing Leads - Everywhere you look, you see articles about social media tactics you can use to get more traffic or leads for your business. And while tactics can be useful, you need to combine them in a cohesive business marketing strategy if you want them to be effective. Some marketers have no problem doing this. They’ve already been able to figure out how to create a passive income business model to get leads with LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. But this is a minority of marketers. If you haven’t had great success with creating residual income opportunities with social media, then I urge you not to give up. You just need to keep learning and testing until you find the right tactics for the right situation. I’d like to give you a complete strategy filled with effective tactics that complement each other. But to do that, I need to focus on one particular social network: LinkedIn. I’m going to give you a strategy in this LinkedIn B2B tutorial that you can use to produce passive income streams for as many B2B leads as you need (provided you have the manpower to put behind it). Why LinkedIn? What makes it a robust business marketing strategy? If you sell products to other businesses, LinkedIn is the social network you need to focus on. That’s where people who are trying to further their careers and improve their job performance go. With more than 400 million members worldwide, LinkedIn has a huge pool of potential leads in just about every single niche out there. Additionally, case study after case study revealed that LinkedIn, on average, drives the most customers to B2B companies. From that short introduction, you should know whether LinkedIn is a good option for your business. Ready? Let’s get started. Step #1: 0:20 Share Your Content: Share your existing content on LinkedIn. If you have a blog share your posts on LinkedIn. If you have old content, put the first few paragraphs on LinkedIn and then add a "click to continue reading" link to get people back to your site. Step #2: 0:48 Creating A Good LinkedIn Profile: Creating a LinkedIn profile isn’t enough. Great LinkedIn profiles have a lot of information about individual or company. Fully complete your profile. If you don't fill out your profile or your skills aren't all listed, you won't get as many inquiries. The more thorough your profile is the more likely people will be to hit you up for work. Step #3: 1:06 Use LinkedIn InMail: LinkedIn InMail a paid feature that allows you to contact other members that you aren't connected with. You can do cold emails and try to generate leads through this simple paid feature. Step #4: 1:37 Get skill endorsements or recommendations. The more people that vouch for you, the more trust you will build. This will show that you are good at what you do. Step #5: 2:02 Use Linkedin Autofill: When you have lead forms on your website, LinkedIn Autofill will prepopulate the data for people. That way people won't have to enter their name, email, phone number or any other personal details. This will help boost your conversion rate and help you get more leads. Just follow the 5 steps above and you will get more leads from LinkedIn. Don’t forget to subscribe and thank you for watching Ultimate Business Marketing Strategy: How to Make A Good LinkedIn Profile For Sourcing Leads.

Find a way to add value. Remember, connecting with someone is a negotiation. You’re trading value for value For more job search tips including a full review of the 20 top transferable skills industry employers are looking for, get this ebook now because it’s free for a limited time only: http://cheekyscientist.com/20-transferable-skills-ebook/ The reason people aren’t connecting with you is because you’re approaching them from a position of need. Hiring managers, recruiters, and working professionals in general are not running a charity. They’re running businesses. They’re managing careers. Time is money. Attention is money. Why should anyone give you their money? Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that people owe you their time and attention just because you need it. Need doesn’t matter. Value does. So stop asking “What do I need?” and start asking “What value can I give? Giving value is easier than you think. You can “like” and comment on people’s LinkedIn posts. You can congratulate others on recent promotions (any promotion that occurred less than a year ago is ‘recent’). You can share articles. You can ask for someone’s opinion (after telling them how much you value their opinion and why). You can contribute to group discussion threads. You can even write your own posts on LinkedIn. You can comment on a shared location, like where you both went to school or where you both used to live, or a shared interest, like a LinkedIn influencer you both follow, and so on. When you do reach out, keep the first message short (less than 50 words). Make the subject line specific to the person you’re reaching out to (mention something in their profile). In the body of the message, tell the other person why you’re connecting. Then add value (see above). Finally, ask a question to prompt a return response (for best results, ask a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ question in the P.S.). Most importantly, NEVER talk about yourself of what you want. Talk about them and their interests only. This one of 25 video excerpts from my free book that you can download here: http://harounventures.com The name of my book is "Networking to Get Customers, a Job or Anything You Want”
Networking on LinkedIn is an important practice and must be done correctly and consistently in order to create real business results. It all starts with knowing who you want to connect with. Who, in what companies, industries, and regions? As you connect on LinkedIn you’ll create opportunities to connect with even more people you want to connect with. I love the old adage, “6 degrees of separation from Kevin Bacon.” This is so old school. Today it’s “3 degrees of separation from anyone who consistently connects with purpose and intention on LinkedIn.” I ‘preach’ this regularly and am obliged to do so again here: “There are two people you need to connect with on LinkedIn, those you can help and those who can help you. Consider the invites from those you can help, as you purposefully send invites to those who can help you in your business or career.” As you connect on LinkedIn remember to smile and be friendly. You’re networking with other real people. Follow the Dale Carnegie principle; ‘make the conversation all about the other person.” I’ve added a spin to this philosophy in my Networking for Mutual Benefit; “Make the conversation all about the other person until you get permission to talk about yourself or your business.” As you connect you never know who knows who, and who can introduce you to who. This could be considered mysterious, however, for me, it’s one of the coolest things about networking. Keep connecting, and as long as you are doing it correctly, with purpose and intention, focused on your goals, trust the magic of networking will work. Don’t just network on LinkedIn, find opportunities to meet in person or have a Skype or Phone conversation. “Digital Face to Face is better than never face to face.” People want to do business with people they trust, respect and like. Get into open conversations, this can help you achieve greater trust, respect, and relationships. Listen to what your connections say or ask. Don’t listen to respond, but rather, listen to understand first and foremost. Remember to Give to your LinkedIn Network. When you give ideas, information and/or new philosophies that are relevant to your target audience, this adds to the trust, respect, and relationship. Don’t confuse barfing out brochures and case studies as a form of giving. Give your target audience what they want, need, & are interested in, even if it’s not about your business. Help your LinkedIn Network, including your target audience, to connect with others who can help each other. Do this with no expectations of anything in return. Pay attention to your LinkedIn Network as you continue to grow your network. Show empathy and bolster their self-esteem when and where you can. You will always be remembered for caring for your network. If you 'lead with give' and care for your network, they will be acceptable to introduce you to others who you need meet. Ask for introductions when you can. Pay attention to who your network is connected to, and to whom they can introduce you to. Again, as you get permission, ask for appropriate introductions. Networking is a lifestyle, not something you do once a week or when an urgent need arises. I discovered years ago that my Network is my most important asset in life. This includes my LinkedIn Network. Never disrespect your LinkedIn Network, continuously build your LinkedIn Network, develop a diverse LinkedIn Network, help your LinkedIn Network, care for your LinkedIn Network, share your LinkedIn Network and Give to your LinkedIn Network with no expectations. It’ll return great dividends if you do. Read more of my articles about Networking on LinkedIn on my blog If I can help you and/or your team with your LinkedIn Networking practices, let’s talk. /Teddy 336-283-6121 [email protected]

It seems most businesses are more concerned about being active on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter but only a few understand the value of LinkedIn and know how to make the most out of this social network. LinkedIn is very powerful because it is the playground for professional connections. LinkedIn is where the professional community engages with each other, communicates and refers, allowing you to connect with key decision makers in your industry. LinkedIn also happens to be the largest professional network online with over 300 million users. Plus, a large majority of users are decision makers, affluent and educated. So how do you get more Linkedin connections? There are 6 tips we recommend you follow to grow your network. The first tip on how to increase linkedin connections, is of course optimizing your profile. It’s critical you use a professional-looking headshot of you (avoid cropped pictures at all costs!) with a plain background. In addition, profile pictures should not be dark or pixelated. You should also be looking direct-to-camera and smiling. Too often, a poor choice of profile picture can turn people away. Then, decide which keywords you want to be associated with, to make sure your name appears in the search results when people look for these keywords. For example, if you own a digital marketing agency, the main keywords used in the summary section, experience section and skills section of your could be: SEO, social media marketing and blogging. Remember to also include a strong headline for your profile together with a customized background to make your profile stand out even further. The second tip is adding connections on LinkedIn by sending personalized connection requests. By default, when you send a connection request on LinkedIn, the person will receive the message “I’d like to add you to my professional network on Linkedin” and most users receive quite a few every day. Instead, edit the message and personalize it, by adding their first name and explaining why you’d like to connect with that person in particular so your request stands out. Before doing so, check the person’s profile and see whether you have anything in common to justify the connection request. The third tip concerning how to increase linkedin connections is giving endorsements. Endorsements on LinkedIn help contribute to the strength of a person’s profile and increases their chances of being found for opportunities related to the skills they have. To check and manage your endorsements, simply go to the “skills” section of your profile. You can have up to 50 skills listed which can be endorsed, but we recommend just listing the 10 most important ones to you. In order to receive endorsements, a good habit to adopt is giving endorsements first as most people will reciprocate. The 4th tip is posting quality, engaging content daily if possible. The more you publish content that is useful to people, the more connections you’ll attract as you will have created a need for your updates. There are two ways on LinkedIn you can publish content. The first one is publishing an update which can be as short as one or two sentences. The second one is leveraging their blogging platform which allows you to publish long-form articles. The more valuable content you provide on a regular basis, the more profile views you’ll receive and therefore the more connection requests you’ll get. The 5th tip is engaging with your connections’ updates. By liking, commenting and sharing their posts, this will increase your visibility and will make people outside your existing network want to connect with you. This is especially the case when your comments are valuable and interesting as users will find themselves clicking on your name to check out your full profile. The 6th tip is promoting your profile outside LinkedIn. For example, you can add your profile link to your email signature and on your business card. You can also add a linkedin widget on your website or on any other marketing material you produce. So to recap, here are the 6 tips on how to get LinkedIn connections and grow your profile. 1) Step 1: Optimise your profile 2) Step 2: Personalise connection requests 3) Step 3: Give endorsements 4) Step 4: Post quality, engaging content regularly 5) Step 5: Engage with your connections’ updates 6) Step 6: Promote your linkedin profile So I hope you’ve enjoyed this video on how to how get more LinkedIn connections and grow your profile, remember to like it, share it, and feel free to leave a comment below. http://EnergizeYourOutlook.com In this video, Business Networking Expert, Laura Morales, tells you what to do and what not to do when you want to network using LinkedIn. LinkedIn – I don’t really know how to use it, should I even get on, and I’m concerned that if I get on LinkedIn, my employer might think I’m looking for another job. My advice would be to definitely get on LinkedIn and establish a profile because LinkedIn is THE best and number one online professional networking site/tool. It provides you the opportunity to create a profile that highlights your work experience, your educational background, your interests, and even your birthday if you choose to include that. I highly recommend however, that when you invite someone to connect with you, please write a personal note, such as, “Hello Jane, It was very nice meeting you at such-and-such event. Would you like to connect via LinkedIn?” In other words, do not use the standard connection request because you want to make your request meaningful. If you use the standard request, then you will be just like everybody else, and you will not stand out positively. How do you grow your network and build your business through LinkedIn? I am not an expert sales lady or professional copywriter, but my intuition tells me that the actions you take on LinkedIn, words you write, and videos you share matter. Taking it a step further, what matters is how you convey that: - You, like the rest of us, are human. - You genuinely care about solving a problem/set of problems. - You are genuinely excited about helping others. The slimy messages that are copy & paste going around don't work for me. I can't connect to them, and I have a feeling most people don't connect well to them either. Hi there! I'm Kim Taylor and this is Spotlight on Business! Today we will take a look at one of the most popular business networking sites, LinkedIn. Perhaps you've heard of the game, "six degrees of Kevin Bacon?" The "game" is based on the idea that all people on earth are connected by six acquaintance links or less. In the Kevin Bacon game, people challenge each other to find the shortest path of linkage between any actor and Kevin Bacon. LinkedIn has taken this concept to heart by creating a business networking site which allows people to post their professional bio online, join relevant industry groups and discussions, and make connections with others who have similar interests or who would be an appropriate contact in a business context.Although LinkedIn is widely recognized as the most relevant business networking site, many people still have not yet heard of it. According to the Pew Research Center in DC, while approximately 70% of adults in the US are on Facebook, only 22% are on LinkedIn. To date, they have a total of 260 million members worldwide. Think of Facebook as personal networking and LinkedIn as business networking. Because it's built for business professionals, you won't find annoying games, "I'm eating pizza" posts, or vacation photos. What you will find is interesting business and career articles, updates on professional achievements and changes within your network, and suggestions of people who might be a good business connection to make. Additionally, you can see who your connections are connected to, and as of this year, how they're connected, in order to better expand your own network and connect with people who are relevant to your current professional interests Another aspect of LinkedIn which facilitates networking for business professionals is their recruiting resources. Companies such as Sony, Allstate, Pepsi and thousands more like them utilize LinkedIn as a primary recruiting tool. Because members have uploaded their professional experiences, awards, and areas of expertise in their profile, companies have access to thousands of qualified candidates for their job postings. In addition, LinkedIn provides members with notices about job opportunities that fit their professional background. Feeling stuck in your job search? Not sure what's wrong? Check out Work It Daily's FREE tutorial on how to fix the things that could be holding you back in your job search: https://www.workitdaily.com/why-shut-out-hiring-process-youtube/ Here are some tips for starting a conversation with a new LinkedIn connection. Tip #1 - Introduce Yourself. No need to overthink this part. Simply introduce yourself and then elaborate on why you wanted to connect in the first place. Also, if you’ve met this person in the past, whether it was at an event or through a mutual friend, be sure to mention it to help refresh his or her memory. Tip #2 - Mention Things You Have In Common A great way to get to know someone is to ask questions to see if you have anything in common. This makes continuing the conversation even easier. You could ask them things like: - What do you want to accomplish in your career? - What are your favorite projects at work? - What are your hobbies outside of work? Highlight your commonalities. This helps to build a stronger connection. Tip #3 - Offer Your Support I can’t stress enough how important is it to offer value to your connections, especially in your first conversation. It shows that you’re a valuable contact who’s ready and willing to help your connections. Offering your support can be as simple as saying something like: - If there’s anything I can do to offer support or anyone in my network that I can introduce you to, please let me know. Happy to help. No need to go overboard. This is only your first message. A brief sentence like this example will show them you’re willing to help. Tip #4 - Don’t Ask For Any Favors Just Yet There are tons of people don’t think about this when they’re networking. However, if you just met someone and he or she immediately asked for a favor from you, wouldn’t it be a turn-off? That’s why you shouldn’t ask for anything in your first message to someone. You need to build this relationship first. The exception would if they can benefit from the favor as well. An example of this could be if you’re asking for a quote from someone for an article that you’re writing. You benefit from getting content for your article, and that person will benefit from some free promotion. It’s a win-win. Unless it’s mutually beneficial, wait until you’ve established a solid, trustworthy relationship before asking for any favors. Keep these tips in mind whenever you reach out to people on LinkedIn. It will ensure that you make a great first impression and put yourself on track to building a network of strong connections. __________________________________ Click this link and get access to J.T. Linkedin groups are like a hub of people with the same interests that enable people to make contacts, share information, find or give answers and ultimately get established as experts in their industry. In order to leverage the power of Linkedin groups, you have to have a Linkedin account. When it comes to Linkedin groups you have two options. You can either create your own group or you can join existing groups. There are many benefits to joining a Linkedin group when you have a Linkedin account. First, it can enable you to strengthen your relationship with key people in your industry so they get to know, like and trust you further while remaining on their radar. Being part of Linkedin groups can also help you generate traffic to your online touch points since you can promote your products and services to members of the group or get referred to by members of the group you belong to. Plus, an added benefit, is the ability to send personalised, private messages to group members for free. Other benefits include the ability of widening your network, increasing your Linkedin connections quite quickly and also positioning yourself as an expert, especially when you provide answers to questions from Linkedin group members or share useful information to them. There are also many benefits to creating your own Linkedin group when you have a Linkedin account. First, when you create your own Linkedin group, it positions you as a thought leader in your industry and an expert. It also allows you to own a network of like-minded people which you can leverage for business such as marketing your products or services. Plus, when you own a Linkedin group, it can be a considerable traffic source as your links can feature permanently in the Linkedin profile of the group and you can send personalised, private messages to any group member for free and send group weekly messages too. When owning a Linkedin group you will also notice that requests for Linkedin connection requests will increase, as members will very likely want to include you in their list of Linkedin connections. Lastly, when owning a Linkedin group, you have control over the content. You can publish any post you want or send any message you want you want to members, as often as you want. You can remove members too and delete the posts they publish on the group newsfeed. Note that you can create up to 30 Linkedin groups and can be the member of up to 100 Linkedin groups. You can access the Linkedin groups you belong to or the groups you own by logging into your Linkedin profile, clicking on the drop down menu next to “work” and clicking on “groups”or by going straight to: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/. There, you’ll see the posts from the Linkedin groups you belong to and own. There is also a tab called “my groups” where you can see the lists of groups you are a member of, or that you own. The tab “discover” shows personalised group recommendations. To look for potential groups to join, perform a Linkedin search. Simply go to your Linkedin profile and type in a keyword relevant to your industry. For example, if you are an interior designer, type in the keyword “interior design” in the Linkedin search bar and then click on “search”. This will list all the groups that include the keyword “interior design”. Click on the group that peaks your interest and then check out the “about section” of the group to make sure joining this group is aligned with what you want to do and achieve from being a member. If you like what you see, simply click on “ask to join” and wait to be approved by the administrator of the group. As a group member, it is important to make valuable contributions consistently, that add value and provide insights to the other members. Avoid coming across as ‘spammy’ by over promoting yourself or your business. Instead, apply the 80/20 rule where 80% of the content you publish is non-promotional. When you do promote offers, make sure that they are relevant to the group members and aligned with their interest and values. Also, make sure you’re not breaching any of the group rules. Should you wish to create a group, go to https://www.linkedin.com/groups/ then click on ‘my groups’ and then ‘create group’. When you create a group, you’ll have to come up with a keyword-rich group name. In other words, a group name that your target audience is likely to look for in the Linkedin search engine. Your Linkedin group should also have set rules. Then, write a description for your group that underlines the purpose of the group and who the group was created for. Then, add a Linkedin profile picture for your group which could be a logo or any relevant image. When you own a group, you’ll have to manage it daily. Your role as the owner will be to: -Approve member requests -Screen posts -Delete spam -Remove group members -Give warnings to group members privately -Acknowledge posts -Send weekly group messages -Send personalised messages -Publish content

Although using Linkedin for marketing is a fantastic way for business owners to grow their network, generate traffic and leads and build a solid reputation in their industry, there are many Linkedin marketing mistakes to avoid if you want to experience real results. The first Linkedin marketing mistake to avoid which is probably among the most costly ones is not optimizing your Linkedin account. On Linkedin, your profile has a profile strength, from beginner, to intermediate to “all star”. The second Linkedin marketing mistake to avoid is not managing your Linkedin presence daily. You should login every day and publish an update, accept and send Linkedin connection requests, engage with other people to nurture relationships, respond to personal messages (also known as inmail), and keep an eye on your Linkedin advertising if you are running any paid campaigns. The third mistake to avoid when using Linkedin for marketing is incongruence. In other words, publishing content that is irrelevant to your audience and that doesn’t add value to them. The fourth mistake to avoid when using Linkedin for marketing is over-promoting. When you use Linkedin mainly as a platform to promote your business and service instead of using it to strengthen relationships and network, you can quickly lose the respect of your audience. Instead, follow the 80-20 rule where 80% of your updates provide value and interesting insights for your audience and 20% of your posts promote your business. The fifth mistake to avoid when using Linkedin for marketing is being too informal. Unlike other social networks like Instagram and Facebook which are more informal, as people use them to connect with friends and family, Linkedin is a professional social network. In other words, people go on Linkedin to perform work and business related tasks. This is why it’s important when using Linkedin for business to not come across as too informal. The sixth mistake to avoid when using Linkedin for business marketing is not humanizing your brand. In other words, not giving an opportunity to your audience to get to know you professionally as well as personally. This is why it’s important to also share updates, news and pictures of you, your clients and your team to humanize your brand. The seventh mistake to avoid when using Linkedin for business marketing is not leveraging all the Linkedin tools available. Tools include Linkedin Premium, which is the paid version of Linkedin which allows you for a monthly fee, to do things free accounts can’t. For example, with a Premium account, you can send inmail messages (which are private messages on Linkedin) to people you are not connected to. Other tools include Linkedin advertising which allows you to market your business to anyone on Linkedin regardless of your Linkedin advertising budget as it’s a self-serve advertising platform. The eighth mistake to avoid when using Linkedin for business marketing is not asking for recommendations. Linkedin allows you to display people’s recommendations, which is the equivalent of testimonials. The more recommendations you have the more social proof you have and the easier it will be to generate leads and referrals. The ninth mistake to avoid when using Linkedin for business is not putting together and executing a well thought a Linkedin marketing strategy. Most people join Linkedin without a clear end goal and specific timeframe to achieve it. This is why when joining Linkedin, have clear goals in mind and put together a Linkedin marketing strategy that outlines the steps you need to take to achieve your goal. The tenth mistake to avoid when using Linkedin for business is not tracking your efforts. When you don’t track your efforts you won’t know where to double your efforts and where to cut the cord. For every goal you set you should have key performance indicators so you can track how close or how far you are from completing your target.

In the second half of the twentieth century, the concept of networking was promoted to help business people to build their social capital. In the US, workplace equity advocates encouraged business networking by members of marginalized groups (e.g., women, African-Americans, etc.) to identify and address the challenges barring them from professional success. Mainstream business literature subsequently adopted the terms and concepts, promoted them as pathways to success for all career climbers. Since the closing decades of the twentieth century, "networking" has become an accepted term and concept in American society. In the 2000s, "networking" has expanded beyond its roots as a business practice to the point that parents meeting to share child-rearing tips to scientists meeting research colleagues are described as engaging in "networking". A business network is a type of business social network which is developed to help business people connect with other managers and entrepreneurs to further each other's business interests by forming mutually beneficial business relationships. Business networking is a way of leveraging your business and personal connections to help bring you regular supply of new business. There are several prominent business networking organizations that create models of networking events that, when followed, allow the business person to build new business relationships and generate business opportunities at the same time. A professional network service is an implementation of information technology in support of business networking. Chambers of Commerce and other business-oriented groups may also organize networking activities. There are multiple different types of networking groups though and the best type for each individuals varies depending on the business they are in and prospects they want to meet. A personal network is a set of human contacts known to an individual, with whom that individual would expect to interact at intervals to support a given set of activities. In other words, a personal network is a group of caring, dedicated people who are committed to maintain a relationship with a person in order to support a given set of activities. Having a strong personal network requires being connected to a network of resources for mutual development and growth. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel

Follow me! :) ...☼ Hi I've been a heavy LinkedIn user for a few years now, being an Open Networker / LION and using the site to build thousands of valuable connections and draw attention to what I do in my professional life. They say it's about 'who you know' - well, LinkedIn is a time effective way to increase the quality and quantity of 'who you know' at no financial cost. This can do awesome things for your business and career. It's also a big part of your online reputation management and acts as your 'digital CV' So in my ongoing attempt to be helpful, I have written a nutshell guide on using 'the world's biggest professional network.' It's aimed at anyone with a LinkedIn profile, but may be specifically valuable to people working on their own businesses, making a career transition, or involved in recruitment. Amongst other things, it covers: Open networking, what it is and how to do it, LinkedIn 'best practice', what to expect, what to do, what not to do... Profile design: how to optimise your profile for human readers (using copywriting fundamentals, the 'inverted pyramid' structure and more) How to optimise your profile for search (LinkedIn SEO) Your online reputation and how to keep a handle on it. What to do with LinkedIn Projects What to do with LinkedIn Specialties and yes, moreeee.... LinkedIn has become one of the largest social media platforms and generating a lot of buzz in 2019. It has been around for quite some time now but it has really been a focal point for the professional communities on social media. I've been on LinkedIn for a long time and have seen some huge growth over the last 18 months. It all started when I posted a rant (I normally don't do that) and got 50,000+ views. From there, I knew LinkedIn had massive potential. In This Video: Tip #1: Use Bluetooth Nearby This is so useful so you don't have to search for people, click to add them and wait for approval. You literally pull out the LinkedIn app, turn on Bluetooth and find people nearby then connect. Use this when you're out at networking events or when you're having coffee to meet people. This really works and you need to try it. Tip #2: Produce Content Get over the fact you don't like how you look or hate your voice. Tough. Produce content because it works. Look at some of the top influencers and how they're producing so much content. Some are not the prettiest people. But you know what? They just don't care. They know the power of networks. So you should do this too. Tip #3: Engage, Interact & Communicate Make sure that you're not that person who is just posting content and not engaging with people. Make sure that you dive deep into comments, talk to your audience and engage. Another cool "hack" is to comment on top ranking posts. Currently LinkedIn has top performing posts on the top and you can see who is commenting and engage. Try this out and see the magic of it! About Me I started my first company, Grand Apps, back in 2011. This was a software development company that focused on app development. We scaled up and grew a few other companies from it. View my tutorials here: http://bit.ly/2P0MEB1 ► How To Grow Your LinkedIn Network Fast If I helped you, please hit that like button! Feel free to contact me. Hope this helps! Subscribe and hit the bell button! Enjoy! -Hays ################################ ################################ ► How To Grow Your LinkedIn Network Fast Full article: Today I'm going to be talking about how to grow your LinkedIn Network super fast. What you want to do is send out LinkedIn connections whenever you can. Anytime you see get a potential recommendation on LinkedIn, click the connect button. Do it for all of the recommendations. Anytime you see someone you know just hit the Connect button and also send him/her a note to improve the chance that they accept your request. Do this for whoever you can. Anytime I send a LinkedIn connection which has been accepted, I'm super grateful to that person. Afterwards, I’ll go on their profile and just endorse all of their skills without expecting anything in return. I endorse all of their skills all the way from the top to the bottom of the LinkedIn profile endorsements section. An additional bonus that sometimes happens when you do this is that 1 out of 10 people will actually endorse you back. This makes endorsing new connections great for building your endorsements on your LinkedIn profile. You can just randomly endorse people you don't know on LinkedIn. Don’t worry, I do it all the time. I've gotten a lot of endorsements this way, and you can too. I definitely recommend you to to do this in order to grow your LinkedIn network and profile. Another thing I frequently do to improve my rapport with my LinkedIn network is send messages. if I know someone it doesn't have to be like they’re this outrageous person in my life, but I will send messages and recommendations just about whenever I can. Just write them a super glaringly awesome recommendation, put that in their profile, and not only it will show up on their profile if they accept it, expanding your network even further. Your recommendation will also be shown directly on your profile, whether they accept it or not. Because the recommendation you've just given is shown down at the bottom of your LinkedIn profile, it looks like you both know each other extremely well. It doesn’t actually matter how well you know the person, the recommendation you gave will appear on your LinkedIn profile even though you don’t actually know this person super well. In general, to grow your LinkedIn profile just be super generous and don't expect anything in return from the people you try to connect with. People aren't always going to be positive to you, accept your request, accept your LinkedIn recommendations, or even reply to your messages. However, if you keep pushing forward past the subtle rejections, your LinkedIn profile will have grown super fast within a matter of days. I've given recommendations to people I like and that I think are super cool, and then we met for coffee in person. You can literally meet people in person, just by connecting on LinkedIn. It’s so awesome. I just find it to be super super cool, and you can’t do this on other social networks like Facebook or Instagram. I've tried doing stuff like this on Facebook and it has literally almost never worked. LinkedIn is different than almost all of the other social networking sites. LinkedIn focuses way more on professional networking and I personally just find it less toxic than all the other social networks. It's really the only social network I use other than Twitter]. So, In conclusion, follow these tips and you will absolutely without a doubt grow your LinkedIn Network in a super short period of time. Trust me, I have done it and it has worked. I have thousands of people following me, and now my posts are being viewed way more and my online presence looks way more professional in general thanks to my LinkedIn profile. So that's what you need to know. Hope this video was helpful. Let me know if you have any feedback. Thanks guys, and have a great day. ################################ ################################ Find more from Hays Stanford here: ► http://bit.ly/2QFjlWb ################################ FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER: ► http://bit.ly/2OLM1PN ################################

10 Ways to Engage on LinkedIn Having an absolutely fabulous LinkedIn Profile is a great step towards using LinkedIn as a business tool. Congratulations if you have a fabulous profile. Growing a highly relevant and meaningful LinkedIn Network is another great step towards creating value using LinkedIn as a business tool. Congratulations if you are building a great LinkedIn Network. However, it’s engagement in and beyond LinkedIn that provides the greatest benefits. Here are 10 ways to engage in LinkedIn (and beyond) and the benefits of each: #10 – Birthday notifications. Many ask, “Why does LinkedIn think it’s useful to notify us of our connection’s birthdays?” I believe the LinkedIn birthday notifications are a great way to engage with our primary LinkedIn Connections. Done properly acknowledging a prospect or client’s birthday can be a good way to start or restart a conversation. #9 – New Job/Role notifications. This notification can be inaccurate sometimes, however for my prospects and important clients, I will take the time to confirm the notification and then acknowledge the change in their career or business. Again, this is a great way to start or restart a conversation with our LinkedIn Connections. #8 – Like, Comment, or Share their Company Page content. Typically LinkedIn Company Page content is published and monitored by the marketing department. However, I follow the LinkedIn Company pages of my prospects and my clients, mostly to stay aware of any business updates or activities of these companies. This engagement can show my prospects and clients that I care enough to pay attention to their companies and as indicated before to create an opportunity to start or restart a beneficial conversation. #7 – LinkedIn Messages. LinkedIn messaging is the least useful direct 1:1 communications method to engage with our LinkedIn Connections. However, these messages can still be useful engagement, when used properly. The benefit of LinkedIn messenger is it’s quick and easy, however only truly useful if the other person uses it as well. #6 – Introduce your LinkedIn Connections to each other. Engagement with our LinkedIn Network should not be all about us or our business. Engaging with our connections in ways that help them is important to do. One way to do this is to make introductions. I usually make these introductions through email, not LinkedIn messaging. #5 – Like, comment or share their personal shares/comments. When someone acknowledges us for the content we share by engaging on it, we are appreciative. Furthermore, when we engage on our LinkedIn Connection’s content we create the opportunity to be discovered for our own expertise, skills, opinions, and perspectives. Remember, never engage on any content that could diminish your professional brand. #4 – Immediately Engage upon connecting on LinkedIn. Just as when meeting someone new in real life, we don’t exchange business cards and then walk away. We should strive to strike up a conversation. #3 – Email Messages. Every engagement with our prospects or clients does not need to be done within LinkedIn. We need to communicate with our network in the ways they want. Today, email is still considered a primary business messaging tool. #2 – Phone Calls. I will periodically call my LinkedIn Connections if they are highly relevant to my business. I do this to ‘poke’ my LinkedIn connection and to look for opportunities to move my connections into a meaningful conversation, hopefully, business related. #1 – Meet IRL (in real life). I firmly believe the best manner of engaging is what I call, knee cap to knee cap, i.e., face to face, or in person. Therefore, where possible and relevant I’ll ask my prospects and clients to meet in person. One way I do this is when I travel out of town, I’ll look to see who I know in that town and I’ll let them know I’m coming to town and ask if they have a few minutes to meet. LinkedIn for Businesses & Professionals by http://localpulsemarketing.com PLEASE LIKE VIDEO IF IT HELPED YOU. We have a great video here for you about LinkedIn and why every business professional needs to be on there. I'm going to run through a couple great pages on their website, the first one being this www.press.linkedin.com/about. What this page gives you is LinkedIn's live feed of all their statistics, their background, where they currently stand with LinkedIn Facts. Like right now, they have more than 150 million members in over 200 countries and territories. You can see the next one is 60% of LinkedIn members are located outside of the US, which is pretty interesting. Down here at Worldwide Membership, we can see all the different countries and territories and continents and what their membership's like. You can see the LinkedIn and Business and they continually update this stuff. And then 2011 Quarter 4 statistics and facts. So this is some really great stuff right here. That again, is on www.press.linkedin.com/about. I'm going to pull up a little slide show really quick and I want to talk about LinkedIn's mission is to Connect the world's professionals to make them more productive and successful. What that means is LinkedIn users are professionals and that these people primarily use the LinkedIn service as a way to network with their peers and key players in their industries. It's a great platform which provides that. These guys like to discuss important topics, get answers to critical business related questions and LinkedIn provides that entire platform. Some key features for businesses on LinkedIn is first and foremost, the target audience. It's the largest professional social network on the internet so that's obviously best for you to be getting in front of the right people and businesses. You can create a LinkedIn company page for free, which is absolutely incredible. They look professional. They're beautiful. We will go and visit one really quick after I get done with this slide. And then you can grow your company page followers on there, much like you can grow your fan page followers on your Facebook page or your Twitter followers or YouTube subscribers. You can import your blog RSS feed from your website on there. It works really well if you have a Wordpress website, Wordpress blog. And then you can also go take advantage of LinkedIn Groups and LinkedIn Answers, which are really, really great platforms on the LinkedIn platform, to be able to showcase your expertise in your area, in your industry and be able to make connections that way. So let's go back over to LinkedIn and I actually want to go over to the LinkedIn Home page. There is obviously a feed here. This is the latest news. There is a whole bunch of stuff over here that you could dive into but what I want to focus in on really quick is to go to Contacts and I want to go to your Network Statistics. I'm just starting to ramp up my usage on LinkedIn. I've got 152 connections right now, nothing to boast about. But you can see how much this multiplies in my network to over 3.7 million connections, only three degrees away, right? That's pretty incredible right there. There is a total of 150,000,000 LinkedIn connections. My regional access, you can see that most of my connections are in the Bay area, Phoenix, Los Angeles, New York and Washington DC. You can see right here, my industry access is with marketing and advertising. This stuff is really important information. It tells me where my network is, where I can focus my attention and I really want to focus over the next six months to really boost up my connections here because I want to get those as high as possible so I can be connected with as many people as possible. So that's it. That's why LinkedIn is so powerful for business and making connections with some potential partners or some good JV partners, if you will, or just business connections. Have fun on LinkedIn. There's tons to do. We'll see you soon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzMQYX1vmTE Join our other Online Communities: https://www.facebook.com/LocalPulseMarketing https://twitter.com/#!/localpulsemktg http://www.linkedin.com/company/local-pulse-marketing http://gplus.to/localpulsemarketing Visit our website for more valuable information on our expertise: local small business internet marketing -- http://localpulsemarketing.com Don't Forget to SUBSCRIBE. How do you get people to follow your LinkedIn company page? This is a question I am asked regularly and I am afraid I have bad news. There is no built-in way to invite people to follow your LinkedIn Company Page, or to share it with your connections or elsewhere. Instead you can copy the Company Page URL and paste it into a message or status update. One thing I forgot to mention on the video is you can also PAY LinkedIn to PROMOTE your Company Page. Other than that there isn't a way to natively share it. -- Karen Clark is a professional speaker and author who works with companies, organizations and sales teams who want training for their members in using social media so that they can grow their businesses in build relationships ethically and in less time online. Microsoft announced the acquisition of Linkedin this week for $26.2 billion. L2 Founder Scott Galloway had predicted the rise in Linkedin’s worth on Bloomberg, calling it the most undervalued social network. Unlike other social media companies like Facebook, Linkedin has three sources of revenue- advertising, premium subscriptions, recruiting tools. It is active in 200+ countries and used by more than a third of global professionals.
