FreePBX VoIP Tutorial Part 7 - Configuring Google Voice

08:06
Update: If you'd like to not have to put the + or the 1 when dialing out, change your dialing patterns to look like this: http://i.imgur.com/yW3mWoE.png Make sure you're using the exact same dialing patterns. This includes adding your 10-digit Google Voice number to the CallerID field on all 3 patterns. I will explain why this is important when adding more than one Google Voice account to your Asterisk server in a later video. Commands used in the video: amportal restart amportal stop amportal start It could take several minutes to restart the server. Just be patient. After making this video, I went into FreePBX, Admin, Module Admin, pressed Check Online, and then clicked the "Show only upgradeable." There was a Google Voice motif update I applied and I haven't had trouble with amportal restart since. I talk a little more about module updating in Part 10. Asterisk Tutorial 15 - Asterisk Subroutines [english]

12:45
Ever wanted to know how to get rid of all those lines of code that repeat themselves over and over again? Today we get yet even more real world like by reducing our business hours dialplan settings to just 2 lines of subroutine coding. In our example, we demonstrate how to use a subroutine to remove the unnecessary lines of dialplan coding when setting up your business hours - although subroutines are by no means limited to solely this function. Important information here is, if you can avoid using the "macro" function, you should, as this option will only provide a depth of seven levels, after which Asterisk will probably crash - use the "GoSub" application instead. FreePBX VoIP Tutorial Part 2 - Gmail and Google Voice Setup

04:57
Note: If you have SipDroid or any other VoIP SIP app installed on your Android phone, it would be wise to uninstall it will likely get in the way of what we're doing. In this section, I talk about disabling Google Chat (GTalk) in Gmail and the Talk app in Android. These are both usually on by default. Note: With these settings, you will still be able to text people using either the Google Voice Android App or the Google Voice client simultaneously. If you want to record your phone calls, enable it in CSipSimple under Settings, Call Options, Auto Record Calls. Files will be in .wav format in your phone's internal memory under CSipSimple. Another option is to record directly on your server, but it's a little trickier to set up. This method might be ideal for those with phones that aren't capable of handing that kind of computation. Note: You don't HAVE to disable Two-factor Google Authentication. You can go here https://accounts.google.com/b/0/IssuedAuthSubTokens#accesscodes and set up a new password for the server. If I knew the exact instructions I'd give them but I don't, sorry. Digium Live | Guest Allison Smith | The IVR Voice

14:52
Every time a customer calls your business, they encounter your phone system’s interactive voice response (IVR). Telephone prompts that are inviting and creative can increase business and reinforce your company’s identity, while prompts that are lackluster and contain too many subcategories can frustrate callers and turn business away. This week’s guest, Allison Smith, is one of the most prevalent telephone voices in the world today. Allison has produced voice prompts for Vonage, Bell Canada, Cingular, Verizon, Qwest, Twitterfone, Hawaiian Telcom – as well as being the voice of the Asterisk Open Source PBX. Allison’s clients include Marriott Hotels, 3M, Pfizer, Toyota, Victoria’s Secret, Bank of America and EBay among many others. In this episode, Allison expands on her presentation “The Next Level of IVR,” which was presented at ITEXPO 2015 in Miami, FL. She explains how your IVR is “the virtual lobby of your company,” and matters just as much in your business’s identity as your website and business card. Digium’s Product Marketing Manager, Brian Ferguson hosts Digium Live!, which features live interviews on various business topics with customers, partners, industry experts and Digium leadership. Topics discussed in this episode: - Tips on creating a successful IVR - Pitfalls to avoid - Creative company IVR examples - Unsuccessful IVR examples - How to exploit your IVR - Voice recognition - Hiring voice talent vs. doing it yourself - How to hire Allison for your IVR needs Check out Allison’s website www.theivrvoice.com and www.theasteriskvoice.com. VoIP Supply Twitter https://twitter.com/VoIPSupply VoIP Supply Facebook https://www.facebook.com/voipsupply/ VoIP Supply LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/company/108762/ VoIP Supply Google+ https://plus.google.com/u/0/+voipsupply-phones Hi this is Mark back at the lab here at VOIP Supply and today we're here to talk about the A-Series phones by Digium which is Digium's latest affordable option for those who have asterisk-based phone systems. There's four of them and they all have a lot of similarities but there's a couple of interesting differences that we're going to talk about. Let's look at the first two phones in the offering, the A20 and the A22, let's take a look. So right off the bat, you'll notice that the Digium A20 and A22 look identical, there is one main difference between the two in that the A22 has a gigabit port where the A20 has just a 10-100. If you're going to be connecting your PC to a phone you're probably going to want the gigabit if the phone is going to be standalone, the 10-100 is pretty much all you need for any kind of voice communication. With most VOIP phones you have three-way conferencing and with the A20 and A22, you have two SIP registrations, which are marked here by line one and line two which really means SIP registration one and SIP registration two. We have a 2.8-inch color screen with soft keys on both and a directional pad which you'll find on most phones for navigating the menu, other than that all your basic buttons, mute, voicemail button, headset, it does have electronic hook switch, Mute, redial and speakerphone. Both phones have identical features. Taking a look at the back of the A20 it is identical to the A22 so we start with our power port, this is going to be a five volt DC, we have two switches 10-100 ports on the A20, it is gigabit on the A22. POE powered, we have our handset port and our headset port. The middle range of the Digium A series is the A25 which also gives you gigabit ports just like the A22 but there's a couple of extra features here. We see prominently the BLF screen, there are six keys here and you can have up to 30 contacts and you can also have four SIP registrations. Couple other important remarks as far as the A-Series goes, it is provisioned with the HP Options 66, TFTP and uses XML configuration. The phone does, of course, have a web interface so you can make configuration changes and make manual provisioning if you needed to. Moving on to the top of the line of the Digium A series phone, the A30 has a 4.3 inch color screen which is quite a bit larger than the 2.8 inch on the other models, also you can have up to six SIP registrations and does sport a couple of extra feature keys, just makes it a bit more convenient when you want a specific function, other than that it's pretty much similar in function to all of its other predecessors in the series. It's also worth mentioning just like the A22 and A25 the A30 does also have Gigabit speed ports on the back. That's the Digium A series phones, they're very attractive, professional looking phones that are built again specifically for Asterisk. If you're in the market for phones just like these and you have an Asterisk phone system you can pick these up at VOIPSupply.Com, once again I'm Mark here in the lab at VOIP Supply, and remember, all we are is VOIP in the wind. Telappliant VoIPOffice - Setting up voicemail tutorial

05:30
Learn how to set up voicemail in VoIPOffice, including enabling email notifications and recording messages. VoIPOffice is a feature-rich, flexible and cost-effective business telephone system from Telappliant. It offers crystal-clear call quality, low call tariffs and a multitude of features that enable your business to communicate more effectively. It's a fully hosted solution, eliminating the need to purchase, install and maintain expensive telephony hardware. For more information, call 0203 384 8648 or visit http://www.telappliant.com/ip-pbx. VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: VoIPOffice voicemail works in a similar way to voicemail on your home or mobile phone. To enable voicemail on an extension, choose the extension and click on 'Edit'. Then click on 'Advanced Options' - this is in the top right of the box that appears on your screen. The voicemail setting is on the right hand side once you scroll down. To disable voicemail, select 'No' on the voicemail option and press 'Save'. To enable voicemail, select 'Yes'. If you would like your callers to leave a message, set 'Greeting Mode' to 'No'. If you set 'Greeting Mode to 'Yes', the system will play a recorded message and then hang up the call. You will notice that the Mailbox name, number, email address and PIN have all defaulted to the settings entered when you created the extension. 'Send email' is generally set to 'Yes'. When a voicemail message is left, a notification email is sent to the email address shown. 'Attach' is generally set to 'Yes' as well. This will send an audio recording of the message as an email attachment, in WAV format. Enabling the 'Delete after Emailing' option will keep your mailbox clean, with space for other voicemail messages (you already have a copy of the audio recording saved in your specified email inbox). 'Skip Instructions' allows you to disable the default voicemail instructions. Most systems have one that says, 'please leave a message after the tone'. Turning it off by selecting 'Yes' will only play your recorded voicemail message followed by the tone. The last 3 options are rarely needed, so we will select 'No'. Once you have configured your voicemail settings, press 'Save'. Now you may want to create your voicemail message. To do this, dial '*123' from the relevant extension. When prompted for the PIN, enter your voicemail PIN. You will now hear a list of numbered options - select option '0'. You will be asked whether you want to record your 'busy' or 'unavailable' message - choose your unavailable message. You will then be able to record your new unavailable message. Once you have recorded your message, press the hash key and hang up the call. It is now advisable to dial your extension and let it ring. You should then hear your unavailable message. Leave a message and check your email inbox to verify that the email function is working correctly. Now we will demonstrate how to create a generalized voicemail box that is accessible by everybody. This is usually used as an out-of-hours mailbox or a mailbox for when a caller times out of a ring group. Click on 'Voicemail' on the left hand side of the Admin Panel; then click on 'Add Voicemail'. In our example, we will label the extension as '4001' and set the name as 'Voicemail'. We will set the PIN and specify an email address. The other fields are set in a similar way to the extension's mailbox. When finished, press 'Save'. Now you may want to create your voicemail message for this mailbox. Dial '*124' from your extension; this allows users to access generalized voicemail boxes and other non-personal voicemail boxes. You will first be prompted to enter the voicemail box number, in our example '4001'; then, you will be prompted to enter the PIN, in our case '1234'. Next, follow the instructions, choose option '0' and then option '1' to record your unavailable message. Save your message by pressing the hash key and hang up. You can call extension 4001 from any extension to listen to the unavailable message and test that the email function is working.

Virtual PBX Phone System (PBXww) Tutorials - Multi Ring, Voice Menu and Voicemail

06:47
Virtual PBX Phone System (PBXww) User Guides and Tutorials - Multi Ring, Voice Menu and Voicemail. Learn more here: https://www.virtual-phonenumbers.com/cloud-pbx-phone-system Voice menus, also referred to as Interactive Voice Response (IVR), comprise the backbone of any PBX system. Without them, callers would not know how to navigate extension-to-extension, nor would users be able to intricately connect the features and objects available. How the Voice Menu PBX Feature Works Voice menus prompt callers to press keys and move through call options. A business, for example, might direct calls to one of three departments: (1) Sales, (2) Account Management or (3) Technical Support. Essentially, the hierarchy and structure of the voice menu determines which calls go where and when. In conjunction with forwarding and time routing, configurations are truly endless. Benefits of the Voice Menu PBX Feature There are three primary advantages in implementing a hosted PBX voice menu. Personalization: Users can upload custom voice menus, augmenting brand authenticity and image. Greeting callers with a friendly, professional IVR can improve the customer experience greatly, especially when tailored to promotions, seasons and/or times of day. Automation: Receptionists and administrators no longer need to manually transfer calls, freeing up their time to complete other necessary tasks. Process more calls in a timelier and more efficient manner with the voice menu PBX feature. Prioritization: Direct callers to departments high or low on the system’s hierarchy. Alternatively, setup lines and extensions for users to bypass the menu entirely—a feature great for existing clients, colleagues, friends and more. Users can apply the voice menu PBX feature in various situations. Explore other features available at Virtual Phone Numbers and learn how they interact or connect with IVR! Unified Voicemail acts like a traditional answering machine or mailbox. It hosts a space in which users may leave voice messages when the phone goes unanswered. Uniquely, the voicemail PBX feature from Virtual-PhoneNumbers forwards all recorded messages to one or more paired email addresses, attaching the audio file for download on a PC, tablet or smartphone. PBX Phone System allows you to record or upload custom messages that are played to the caller when you are not available to answer the call. This message can give instructions to the caller to leave a voice message or may provide other available options, such as listing alternative contact phone numbers. Users expecting large call volumes need the queue PBX feature, yet not all hosted phone solutions offer it. To efficiently process simultaneous inbound calls, our PBX Phone System sequences callers based on a first-come-first-serve basis. Understandably, many calls would go unanswered without the queue PBX feature, just as many calls would be cut short to keep the lines open. By implementing transitory spaces with brand messages and music, call agents can spend longer on each call and still process more inquires.

How to setup a business phone system in minutes via our FREE PBX phone system

In this video, you will learn how to configure a virtual phone number (DID number) with multi-ring, voicemail and a voice menu (IVR). Learn more here: https://www.virtual-phonenumbers.com Unified VoicEmail (voicemail) is a mailbox in which callers may leave voice messages, similar to a home answering machine. In the case of Virtual-PhoneNumbers.com, recorded messages are immediately forwarded as a voice file attachment to an email address that you specify, allowing you to retrieve voice messages wherever you are. Virtual-PhoneNumbers.com allows you to record or upload custom messages that are played to the caller when you are not available to answer the call. This message can give instructions to the caller to leave a voice message or may provide other available options, such as listing alternative contact phone numbers. The Voice Menu or IVR (Interactive Voice Response) is one of the most important features of a PBX phone system and allows callers to interact with Virtual-PhoneNumbers.com by pressing keys on their own phone. This means that callers can route their calls to the correct agents or departments and receive the information that they need, 24 hours a day, without the need of costly human agents. For a business, the implementation of a Voice Menu will greatly improve its customers’ experience and reduce its operating costs. Virtual-PhoneNumbers.com allows you to customize your Voice Menus by recording or uploading custom messages that are played to the caller. Typically, this message would include information pertaining to extension numbers to connect with people or departments. Learn more here: https://www.virtual-phonenumbers.com
