About the Articles Database on BrentBrookbush.com

05:36
To call what we are offering “articles” is almost unfair. These are integrated, multi-media lessons, designed to deliver education in the format you want it, or the format that presents the information with the most clarity. We can integrate so much into every article, and for this reason, the articles database is the soul of BrentBrookbush.com. We know that information is only useful, when you can find it… and this is dependent on organization and search-ability (two of our continued efforts at the Brookbush Institute). To make locating the article you wish to find, easy… we have added 3 ways to search. You can use the search bar and browse articles just as you would use “Google” to browse the web. You can use the category filter (my favorite way to search articles), and refine your selection to topics you are interested in, and when you select an article, the category filter column becomes a list of articles in the same category/sub-category… this comes in handy when searching through larger sections of the site. Last, and perhaps most important for inspiring curiosity and enjoyment of the learning process, every article is full of hyperlinks to related text. This use of hyperlinks is purposeful, linking information that may help you understand a concept, may help you understand a concept deeper, may help you get past a concept you did not understand, or just help you get lost in education as one article you enjoy… leads you to a hyperlink of another article you enjoy, which leads you to another, etc. We believe this use of hyperlinks reinforces learning information by association rather than attempting to memorize desperate facts and concepts… which research has been shown to be a more natural and effective way to learn. Now, we know that every concept is not worth reading an entire article, so we have created and continue to develop our pop-up glossary. If you see a word, phrase or terminology with a dashed underline, click on it, and the definition will pop-up. You can also browse the glossary at any time, by clicking the glossary button, which always appears at the bottom of the left-hand column. Every article is full of illustrations (especially the anatomy articles). We are picture hounds, and geek out when we find a picture that shows us some new vantage point of a structure, or answers some burning question about muscle, or just does a beautiful job of highlighting a little form intricacy of an exercise. We use illustrations where ever we can, because we know that most of us are visual learners, and would gladly go back to the picture books we had in elementary school if they contained the information we needed. We are big fans of headers, tables, bullets and summaries..... Help us caption & translate this video! http://amara.org/v/6sE8/

JAB17 - Joomla 3.7 Custom Fields - Using Them to Their Full Potential

43:56
by Geraint Edwards Joomla 3.7 introduces a very welcome new feature, Custom Fields for the core content types. Out of the box you can add custom fields to Content, Contacts, Users and 3rd party addons can add support too. For many sites, simple Joomla content items don’t offer enough flexibility to meet the website owner’s requirements. An estate agency/realtor’s site will need energy or survey reports, floorplans, pricing, broadband availability, address information, school catchment etc. A cookery website will need recipes with lists of ingredients, preparation instructions, nutritional information etc. Clubs and societies need additional information about their users - membership numbers, qualifications etc. Etc. There are many addons to Joomla, sometimes known as CCKs or Directories, that allow you to create structured content for your website. It is also possible to create have user profile plugins to extend user data. But most of these are often complex to manage, unintuitive and become expensive to maintain and users often yearn for the simplicity of Joomla content items. With the release of Joomla 3.7 many site developers will be able to use Joomla Custom Fields to meet their requirements without the need to use complex CCKs and user profile plugins. In this talk we will show you how Joomla 3.7 custom fields work - creating fields in Joomla content, contacts and user profiles. We will show you how you can setup different fields for different content types and customise the output using template overrides. We will then introduce a new tool to make managing Joomla custom fields easier and more powerful. Making it easier to create customise content creation and output that varies by content types (e.g. recipes vs chefs) Allowing the output of fields to be conditional on the value of others Allowing you to customise list views (such as the featured articles) differently to individual articles Allowing you to filter menu item output by custom field values All of this whilst continuing the use the core Joomla custom fields.

Using Advanced Search Journal Articles (NEW)

03:21
We begin this tutorial where most of them have started...at the Weekly Literature Update web page, also referred to as the home page. From this page there are three different ways to get to the Advanced Search form for journal articles. The first way is to click on the "Instant Answer" link in the Weekly Literature Update. The second is found at the top of the page, where after you choose to Search journal Articles (highlighted in red), you can click on the Advanced Search link. Finally, no matter what page you are on, you can always choose the Advanced Search option under the Journal Articles menu item on the Navigation bar. No matter how you get to the Advanced Search form, you'll find instructions on how to use it in the right column.

Articles (a, an, the) - Lesson 1 - 7 Rules For Using Articles Correctly - English Grammar

16:59
In this lesson, learn the 7 rules for using articles in English correctly. Also see - MOST COMMON MISTAKES IN ENGLISH & HOW TO AVOID THEM: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Dax90QyXgI&list=PLmwr9polMHwsR35rD9spEhjFUFa7QblF9 For more FREE English lessons, SUBSCRIBE to this channel. Transcript: Hello and welcome. In this lesson, I will teach you the seven rules that you need to know for using articles in English correctly. Articles are the words ‘a’, ‘an’, and ‘the’. There is a final quiz at the end of the lesson for you to test your understanding. OK, the first rule is about where to use ‘a’ and where to use ‘an’. So rule number one is use ‘a’ before a consonant sound, and ‘an’ before a vowel sound. So in all of these words – you see that they start with a consonant sound. Cat starts with /k/, dog starts with /d/, boy with /b/, girl with /g/, house with /h/ and tree with /t/. So we say ‘a cat’, ‘a dog’, ‘a boy’, ‘a girl’, ‘a house’, ‘a tree’ etc. Notice that in natural speech, we don’t say ‘a’, we say ‘uh’ – like ‘a cat’. In this next set of words, you see that, they all start with a vowel sound – apple starts with /ae/, engineer starts with /e/, ice-cream with /ai/, old with /o/, umbrella with /uh/. So we say ‘an apple’, ‘an engineer’, ‘an ice-cream cone’, ‘an old womman’, ‘an umbrella’ and so on. In speech, we don’t say ‘an’, we say /ən/. Let’s do a small exercise. You see ten items on the screen. For each one, I want you to say if you would use ‘a’ or ‘an’ before it. Stop the video, think about it, then play the video again and check. OK here are the answers. Did you get them all right? I want to focus on items number seven to ten because these are a little tricky. Number seven is ‘a university’ because even though ‘university’ starts with the letter ‘u’ the first sound of the word is not a vowel sound. We don’t say /ooniversity/. We say /yoo-nə- vər-si-ty/ so that first sound is a /y/ sound, which a consonant sound, so we say ‘a university.’ Number eight is similar. The word ‘European’ starts with a /y/ sound, so ‘a European tour.’ In number nine, the spelling has an ‘h’ at the start but that ‘h’ is silent. We don’t say /hau-ər/, we say /au-ər/. The first sound is an /au/ sound which is a vowel sound, so this is ‘an hour’. In the same way, in number ten, we say MA. ‘M’ starts with an /e/ sound which is again a vowel sound, so ‘an MA in English’. OK let’s move on to rule number two: Use ‘a’ and ‘an’ ONLY with singular, countable nouns. We say that a noun is countable if we can count it – one, two, three, four etc. All of these words on the screen are countable. We can say one elephant, three cars, ten teachers, five hundred onions and so on. Now if you talk about one person or thing, like one elephant or one car, then that’s called a singular noun and if you say ten teachers or five hundred onions, those are called plural nouns. Uncountable nouns cannot be counted in this way. Nouns like water, sugar, milk, love, anger, knowledge are some examples. If you think about it, you cannot say “I drank four waters” or “I want eight milks”. To a person, you can say “I love you” but you can’t say “I have five loves for you” – that doesn’t make any sense. So these are all uncountable. Alright, so the rule is - you can only use ‘a’ and ‘an’ if you’re talking about one person or one thing. Let’s do another quick exercise. Here are ten items again. This time, you see ‘a’ or ‘an’ before the nouns, but some of these are wrong. They should NOT have ‘a’ or ‘an’ before them. Stop the video, identify the mistakes, then play the video again and check. OK, here are the answers. Number three is wrong because ‘shirts’ is a plural and you cannot use ‘a’ or ‘an’ before a plural noun. Number five is wrong because ‘happiness’ is uncountable, so again, ‘a’ or ‘an’ cannot be used there. The same goes for number six – water is uncountable. Number nine is wrong because ‘doctors’ is a plural – you can say ‘a doctor’ but not ‘a doctors’. And finally, in number ten, advice is an uncountable noun – so you cannot ask for ‘an advice’. Now a quick note here: the article ‘the’ can be used with all kinds of nouns – singular or plural countable nouns, and uncountable nouns. OK, so let’s now talk about how to choose between ‘a’ or ‘an’ and ‘the’. Here’s rule number three: Use ‘a’ or ‘an’ to talk about a person or thing unknown to your listener. And use ‘the’ to talk about a person or thing known to your listener. For example, “My sister has two computers: a PC and a laptop. The PC is quite old but the laptop is brand new.” I say ‘a PC’ and ‘a laptop’ because that’s the first time I’m mentioning the two computers. That is, until this point, they are unknown to you, the listener.

What if I told you that there might be a way to time travel? All you have to do is wait and chill for a couple of centuries. Easy right? Okay, it might be a little more complicated than that. In my last video, I talked about people miraculously surviving after being under ice for extended periods of time. In this video, we’re going to talk about people PURPOSELY freezing themselves through cryonics— a fancy word which here means the process of freezing a corpse and storing it until a theoretical time in the future when technology has advanced enough to bring the person back to life. The Constitution, the Articles, and Federalism: Crash Course US History #8

13:04
In which John Green teaches you about the United States Constitution. During and after the American Revolutionary War, the government of the new country operated under the Articles of Confederation. While these Articles got the young nation through its war with England, they weren't of much use when it came to running a country. So, the founding fathers decided try their hand at nation-building, and they created the Constitution of the United States, which you may remember as the one that says We The People at the top. John will tell you how the convention came together, some of the compromises that had to be made to pass this thing, and why it's very lucky that the framers installed a somewhat reasonable process for making changes to the thing. You'll learn about Shays' Rebellion, the Federalist Papers, the elite vs rabble dynamic of the houses of congress, and start to find out just what an anti-federalist is. If you're looking content for your first tier of backlinks then there really is no other way to produce quicker readable content then my method in the above video. I've tried TBS, Spinner Chief 4, SpinnerX+Spinner Chief4+GSA/FCS/RankerX and IMHO none of them compare to Word Ai and KM. I receive a small commission for referring products in my video and would really appreciate the kind gesture in exchange for the awesome trick you've just learned. Cheers
