Currency in Cambodia: How it works. Khmer Riel & USD ( Money )
The local currency in Cambodia is called Cambodian Riel. It's value is 4000 Cambodian Riel to $1 USD. In Cambodia they use a combination of both USD & Cambodian Riel. It is not un-common to pay for something in USD and get Khmer Riel change or vice-vera. You might even recieve your change in a combination of both Riel and USD. Using money in Cambodia can be a little tricky and confusing, especially if you are not good at numbers. Take your time and make sure you are given correct change when buying in Cambodia. Generally the Khmer people are very honest but late at night in a drunken state you might easily be short changed at the local beach bars in Sihanoukville if you are not careful. The common Cambodian Riel bank notes you might come accross in your travels of Camodia are as follows: 20,000 Cambodian Riel = $5 USD 10,000 Cambodian Riel = $2.50 USD 5,000 Cambodian Riel = $1.25 USD 2,000 Cambodian = $0.50 USD 1,000 Cambodian = $0.25 USD 500 Cambodian = $0.125 USD 100 Cambodian = $0.025 USD Thanks for watching, give this video a huge thumbs up, click that SUBSCRIBE button and don't forget to tell your friends about Dead Farang on Youtube. Top 5 Most Valuable Currencies in Asia
Money plays an important role in today’s world. Asia is home to some of the most expensive currencies in the world. The Kuwait dinar is not only Asia’s most valuable currency but also the most valuable in the world. Here is a brief overview of the top five most valuable currencies in Asia, with their value in US dollars. 5) Azerbaijani Manat (1 Azerbaijani Manat = $1.28) Azerbaijani Manat is the official currency of Azerbaijan. It is subdivided into 100 qapik. AZN is its currency code. Many people will be surprise to see Azerbaijani Manat on this list, yet the official currency of this Asian nation is actually around 25% more valuable than the US dollar. Despite what some might think, the local economy is actually quite strong, and unemployment low. 4) Jordanian dinar (1 Jordanian dinar = $1.41) Jordanian dinar is the official currency of Jordan. JOD is its currency code. It is subdivided into 10 dirham, 100 qirsh or 1,000 fils. Since October 23, 1995, the Jordanian dinar has been officially pegged to the IMF’s special drawing rights (SDR). It is quite difficult to explain the high value of the Jordanian Dinar, since the nation does not have a strong economy, and lacks crucial resources, such as oil. Nevertheless, 1 JOD is worth around US$1.41, making it one of the most expensive currencies in the world. 3) Omani Rial (1 rial = $2.60) Omani rial is the official currency of Oman. Its currency code is OMR. It is sub-divided into 1,000 baisa. The Central Bank of Oman is the monetary authority of Oman. The bank has issued notes in the denominations of 20 rials, 50 rials, 10 rials, 5 rials, 1 rial, half rial and 100 baisa. Thanks to its strategic location, Oman has developed a solid economy and a high level of human development. 2) Bahraini dinar (1 dinar = $2.65) Bahraini dinar was first introduced in 1965 in Bahrain. It is sub-divided into 1000 fils. The Central Bank of Bahrain has the monetary authority of Bahraini dinar. BHD is the currency code of this currency. Thanks to huge exports relative to its size, this small Asian nation’s official currency is the world’s second most valuable currency, trading at US$2.65 per Bahraini Dinar. 1) Kuwaiti dinar (1 dinar = $3.46) Kuwaiti dinar is the currency of Kuwait. KWD is its currency code. This tiny country with huge wealth has the most valuable currency in the world. It is sub-divided into 1,000 fils. To date six series of the Kuwaiti dinar have been printed. The sixth series was announced on May 19, 2014. Thanks to huge oil exports and a fixed exchange rate, a single Kuwaiti Dinar will give you around US$3.46. Mexicans Upset With Currency Plunge
Recently the peso has come up extremely weak against the rapidly rising United States dollar, with the peso to dollar rate jumping from 12 pesos for one dollar to nineteen pesos for one dollar. While the United States might be content with a strong currency, for Mexicans this means less travel to the United States, and less of an ability to buy things in Mexico. And the entire country seems to be talking currency and exchange rates, since it has had such huge impact on every day life in Mexico. Average Mexicans are taking to social media to mock the government, news anchors, anyone they feel is helping to make the dollar to peso exchange rate so difficult. http://fusion.net/story/267321/mexicans-are-angry-about-the-rising-dollar/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=/feed/ http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit News using http://wochit.com

Mexico Money Saving Tips!
So you want to go on Vacation to Mexico? We recently went to Puerto Vallarta and have been to Mexico in the past. So it’s time to share some Mexico Money Saving Tips with you guys to help you have the Ultimate VACATION for Less! Tip #1: When booking resorts in another country, I would recommend using something like TripAdvisor.com. You can see the ratings of each hotels in that city and what specific things other families or couples said about the resort. Tip #2: Oyster.com is another great resource that you can use. They travel to each of the hotels and take real pictures that haven’t been edited so you can see what the resort really looks like. Tip #3: You can lose a LOT of money when heading to another country, if you don’t understand exchange rates or how it all works. And if you exchange your money at the wrong location, you will pay a higher fee or even a higher percentage on the exchange rate. Your best bet is to use a credit card that has a 0% foreign transaction fee. I would NEVER pay with American Dollars and have them give you back Pesos. You will lose a lot of money and not realize. So it’s best to have Pesos on you to purchase with cash. If you can get to a Bank in Mexico, it’s your best bet to getting the lowest fees on your exchange rate. However, if traveling to the city or bank location is out of your way and will end up costing more money than exchanging somewhere else, your 2nd best bet is to exchange at the airport right after you land. NOTE: There are multiple exchange rate services at the airports typically. So check to see what exchange rates they have AND their service fee. Lastly, if you have enough time, you can order foreign cash through your bank BEFORE your trip! Tip #4: If you have never traveled to mexico before, you’ll want to know that you should never, ever take a first price you hear when purchasing products. You can always negotiate. You’ll go back and forth with the shop owner until you come to an agreed upon price. Tip #5: Shop around when it comes to excursions. Tip #6: In Mexico, always, always, always keep your valuables in the room safe! Laptops, Passports, money, jewelry, cameras… they should all go in your in-room safe every single time you leave it. Tip #7: For most places in Mexico, you won’t need any sort of power converter or power adapter. So that alone, will save you anywhere from $30- $100. Tip #8: For transportation, check with the hotel you are staying at and see what kind of transportation they offer for either free or for rent. Renting a car outside of the U.S. can be expensive insurance wise and may not be your best option. Riding the local bus transportation is something our family has done and depending on how touristy your destination is, you’ll see a lot of other people doing that as well. If you do choose to travel by Taxi, PLEASE make sure that you are getting in a REAL Taxi Cab! There are a lot of fakes and look-a-likes. Tip #9: Make sure your bank knows you will be traveling out of the country so they don’t put a block on your cards. Tip #10: If you need access to emails, texts or phone calls on your cell phone, call up your provider and see what sort of short-term out of the country type of plan they have. For us, it only cost us $2 a day to have those services while we were in Mexico! Tip #11: Bring any of the sweets or chocolates you love with you in your suitcase! Mexico’s chocolate is pretty bitter and they don’t use a lot of sugar in their food. You can head to one of their OXXO Gas Stations (similar to a 7-11) to buy American Snacks.. but they are expensive. Coming Up Soon: Duty Free Inside Airports and How to Save! Busy avenue in central Buenos Aires with Obelisk landmark in background STORYLINE Argentina's currency sharply devalued against the U.S. dollar on Thursday as the new administration lifted deeply unpopular limits on the buying of foreign currencies. Minutes after exchange houses and banks opened Thursday, the peso initially traded at around 15 to one U.S. dollar before dropping to just under 14 in the early afternoon. That represents a 30 percent drop in value from the 9.84 official rate at the close of business Wednesday. Over the last year, the government has kept the rate fixed around 9. "We could not continue to live in the lie that we were in", said Carlos Fernandez, a financial services worker standing amdist a flurry of activity in the financial center of downtown Buenos Aires. The change was put in motion Wednesday night, when Finance Minister Alfonso Prat-Gay announced there would no longer be restrictions on buying foreign currencies. Attempting to stop capital flight, the preceding administration of President Cristina Fernandez instituted the restrictions on buying foreign currency in 2011. Locally called a "cepo," or "clamp," the restrictions were one of many protectionist policies instituted during 12 years of governments led by Fernandez and her late husband and predecessor as president, Nestor Kirchner. People who wanted to buy dollars, a common practice in a South American country with a long history of financial collapses, had to meet several requirements. And most were limited to a few hundred dollars a month - when U.S. currency was available in banks. Not everyone was convinced the move would be all that positive for many Argentines. "In daily living there were actually not that many who had the opportunity to save", said Silvia Tissoni a 45 year old office worker. "Maybe there are not so many dollars hidden in mattresses like they think", she added. There were some concerns the lifting of currency rules could lead to a run on banks by Argentines eager to buy dollars, however, as of Thursday afternoon, there was no indication that throngs were rushing to the banks, a sign that many are likely waiting to see what happens. =========================================================== Clients are reminded: You can license this story through AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/metadata/youtube/6f9a1d608a4b3259d213ac9694af69a0 Find out more about AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/HowWeWork
